MY LANDING EXPERIENCE AND OBSERVATIONS

Hi everyone ;

I'm one of the QSW who is waiting for visa . I have a question , i'm going to landing to Quebec but move to another province ( such as Ontario or Alberta) right after landing. I heard if i move to another province right after landing my file may be rejected for citizenship. Would you please guide me in this matter? Thank you in advance

Landed In Canada My Experience

I drove to Prescott in my car from Canada. Informed the immigration officer at US border that I need to do landing/ I had US VISA and I-94, but they asked me to go inside the room. Officer inside took back the I-94 and gave me paper of entry rejected into USA . This is a requirement. I entered Canada and told them I need todo my landing. Was proceeded to a room with a slip. Officer asked for Work Permit which I lost. Also for bank statement. I went to nearest police station, filled complaint for work permit lost and got a copy of it printed. Also got the statement printed . had to travel around 30 km for that. Anyways, came back and directly went to canadian immigration and same officer did landing for me.. It took less than 2-3 minutes for entire procedure..

So once i got the landing, I went back to USA . made a new I-94 .Picked up a pizza, filled gas, Picked up some red bulls boxes. Stopped at Duty free and picked cigars to chill and came back to Canada..

If you are 18 years of age or over, you are allowed to bring in all of the following amounts of tobacco into Canada duty- and taxes-free within your personal exemption:

200 cigarettes
50 cigars
200 grams (7 ounces) of manufactured tobacco, and
200 tobacco sticks.

I am travelling on Nov 30 from Bahrain-Istanbul-Toronto-Edmonton. My question is, do you think 2hours and 55 minutes is enough for me to do landing formalities and be on time on boarding for Edmonton connecting flight? thanks in advance. I will be landing alone.

It should be ok.....there are numerous flights (Toronto to Edmonton) daily so even if you miss one, they will put you on the next one..

Try to ensure that you checked baggage is tagged all the way to Edmonton by the airline if possible. Otherwise you may have to collect it in Toronto after immigration formalities....not an issue at all.

Are you traveling on Turkish Airlines from Istanbul or on Air Canada?

For your information only...even if you thorough-checked your baggage, you must collect all your baggage at Toronto and rechecked-in with the connecting flight. Many of the incoming passengers are in doubt whether they need to collect the baggage during the transit in Canada. The answer is YES.
