My Express Entry

Hello everyone,

I am creating a thread because I have questions regarding Express Entry.

I am a single man, from France, and would like to apply to the Express Entry Program.

I have a few questions I would like answered because I can't find this information online and I can't contact CIC on the phone.

- I have been an English Teacher in France for about two years. I do have a University Degree in English but I do not have any teacher's certificate. Would it be considered an A-Category Job for CIC ?

- I counted the CRS points I should have based on education, work experience and languges (I'm fluent in both English and French) and the total should be 503. What should I expect ? Is it a good score ?

- I know that having a province invitation is another 600 points on the application, but should I apply to provinces to have their invitation or should I try the Express Entry program without any invitation (if it is even possible ?)
- What time frame should I expect ?

I know I'm asking a lot of questions but I'm a bit lost and wondering if I'm making the right decision.

Hello,

i dont know the answer to your first question. May be some other member might be able to help.

503 is more than enuf to receive an ITA. the average cut off is between 440-460

if possible to get ITA without PNP nomination, take that. You will save money on pnp processing + the PPR will be issued faster.

ITA is invitation to apply. PNP is provincial nomination program and PPR is the permanent resident card.

I suggest you go through the express entry in a nutshell thread on this forum. Most of your questions will be answered there.

For your first question, I believe you don't need a teacher's certificate for that. A university degree is enough to get you points for the Express Entry. Your work experience letter should be detailed explaining all your duties that your job entails as close as possible to the NOC you're applying to.

ITA is when you receive after u create ur EE profile. you have 90 days to submit supporting documents. For FSW, processing is quite quick. you can expect the PPR in 2 months.. once you get your ppr, you can land in canada until your medicals are valid.

Oh ok it is great to hear. So, even if i haven't done any language test and haven't translated my diplomas, I can start doing my EE profile ? or should i do everything first ?

Without the language tests and ECA, you're not eligible. So, do that first.
