I came after a whyile to this thread but nthompson, hatts off to you mate..

you are such an inspiration for people like us. U have no idea how are brain talks back to us regarding the queries what wil happen once we are there but your this post is always a lige that shines from the miles... +1 for you :)

Thanks Haiderzaidi, I really appreciate your comments.

I know what you mean because before I moved to Canada I also came to this website seeking advice on jobs. But all I saw was negative comments and no one posting anything positive which would potentially help newcomers to Canada.

It is really life draining reading unsuccessful comments but I'm sure there is as much success as unsuccessful immigrants. I just feel that the ones that have made it in Canada don't post on here but the ones that haven't, result to seeking advice on what to do because they feel they have no were else to go but to come here to ask for advice.

I guess you are right.. they feel no significance of coming here again as htey achieved what they desired.

My husband is looking into career edge. On their website it states that if your credentials are from outside canada they must be accredited. What are the steps to do this and must it be done??

Once you get a interview screening they will send you a few links to your email were you will do a online assessment on your qualifications to see what your qualifications is recognized as in Canada.

Honestly after I put all my qualifications in on what additional course I took in the UK. My qualifications where through the roof. He will be fine trust me I have no idea how the assess it but my Canadian wife was shocked to see the results.

Even diplomas are looked at quiet highly here. In total the assessment said I have education of 9 Years MBA of a Canadian qualification.

Thanks for that information. His credentials are all from the middle east and certifications hes done for corporate banking are all american associations do those count too?

Yes they do all count. Does not matter what part of the world he achieved his certifications it all counts. Add in everything don't miss out even the smallest certifications because everything counts

Hi Nthompson,

Hope all is well!

I read your comments and thanks a lot for your suggestions/advice for new immigrants. I got my PR and planning to land in Toronto in couple of months. Initially, when I read the comments posted in this block I was disappointed as if I did a mistake in applying for PR under FSWP program as I see lot of negative comments and after reading your comments now I feel confident and happy that I made a right decision.

Currently, I am working as a Tax Senior in Big 4 having 8+ years of experience in US Taxation. Recently, I did certification in SAP FI and would like to make career in SAP. I have couple of questions before leaving home country.

1) I am planning to settle in Toronto since it has a big market and chances of getting job is high
2) How are the job opportunities for freshers in SAP in Canada? I am ready to start from scratch.
3) when is the best time to land in Canada? I learned that companies hire only twice in a year. Is it true or they will hire through out the year?

Again, thanks a lot for your suggestions.

waiting for your response. Thanks a lot in advance.

Regards,
Ammenla

Hi Ammenla,

I am 27 year old and I have completed my graduation in Bsc. Mass Communication but I am working as Business Development Manager in an IT company for more than 5 years. Very soon I will be getting married to someone who has a Canadian PR. I have a good hold over English Language - Written and Spoken. I would like to know if working in a different field other than what educational qualifications i have, can i Job in canada?

Waiting and anticipation!
