Thanks for your reply nthompson :)
I am considering Toronto city for immigration. Can you please tell me how do I re-qualify in Canada to be acknowledged?
Nice location you picked there. Well I a few of my cousins studied at Waterloo University and they told me its highly recognized and hard to get into. But if you wanted to be re-certified I'd recommend looking into that university for addition course that you might need to take to proceed in your profession.

Myself and my wife are looking into moving to Canada and trying to work out which visa to use. We're both under 30, so working holiday is a possibility but both of us have experience in different fields so the fw program is also an option. When we get back to the UK we're looking at career edge and applying for positions. My question is if we don't have jobs to walk into straight away foes that hinder our chances of getting a working holiday visa? We've got around $20k (Canadian) in the bank so we can survive until we get jobs. Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated.

Hello Adam,

I would highly recommend the working visa as that last for one whole year and you can further extend it for another year. A least to couples I know have done this and at the end of the 2nd year they got sponsored by the company. If this is the option that you want to go then Career Edge is out of the question as they only accept newly landed immigrants who have a PR and not a working visa.

Good thing about doing the holiday working visa from the UK is that they normally setup up with a few companies and you end up going with and mixing with different groups of people depends on what company you end up going through.

20k Be more then enough but if your coming on a working Visa i'm sure you find a job within a few weeks.

Hope this information is enough.

Hello Thompson,

I appreciate a lot for sharing your experience. I am 7 years experienced in field of finance and business analysis. Currently working in a dream project in Bangladesh and was sort of in a confusion whether to move Canada and leave all behind. Your experience has been a real help for me, except the British Accent part since i dont have that, lol.

I went to Career Edge website and suddently found out that they have affiliation with CIMA. This can be a real solution for me as I am studying CIMA and hope to finish atleast Advance Diploma level (Level 2, one more to be a full member). Do Career Edge place CIMA partial qualified professionals in to internship programs?

Besides, I am finacial analyst and business proposal writing expert having decent experience in telecommunication infrastructure companies and PPP projects. I have applied for FSW2014 and according to my lawyer, I have good chance to become a immigrant.

Thank you once again and will appreciate further if you could reply to my query on 2nd para.

Hello Amit,

No problem :) Thats a good start as I've seen quiet a few finical internship jobs in career edge for a few major banks like Scotia, BMO and TD. Don't worry about the British accent as long as you come across pleasant with a natural smile and good english you will be fine. In my company I've noticed a great mixture of cultures from Indian, British, Guyanese, African, Chinese, White you name it we got it so shows they don't discriminate over here.

Well this would be a great asset for you then if they have a program for people studying CIMA then that works better in your favor. Yes if they even accept you with a Diploma level into internship positions. All you need is for minimum requirements is professional experience a Diploma to back your job and be in Canada for less then 2 years to be qualified.

Your lawyer knows best as I'm sure they have dealt with immigration before so cross your fingers and I'm sure everything will work out

Hi NThompson

You have given very informative inputs for everyone.

I have applied for University professor category in may 2014. cleared with MR, RPRF and PCC stage.
Waiting for PPR from NDVO.

My question is that: I searched for some jobs related to professorship, got to know that they either take citizen or PR holder.
Does that mean, i can not apply for job from India itself before i get PR.??

or what they ask related to PR/ citizen status is not very much important while applying for job.

Should i try to apply now and tell about my status?
because the jobs for which i am planning to apply need joing in july-2015. and i believe that my PR process will be over by that time

Please suggest what should i do?

If I was you I would not waste my time in applying because they won't really care about your status and they would only be interested if you was already in the country with your PR.

If the job is for July 2015 and your sure you will have it before then why not just wait?

@ NThompson,

Hi there...great job you're ding in this forum. Couple of questions please. I recently applied for the FSW 2014 scheme and got my MR.
I applied as a HR manager. I have a masters degree in HR from the University of Liverpool, UK and a professional HR certification from USA. Gt about 6 years full time HR experience too.
In order to prepare for the canadian job market...would you advice getting canadian-specific certifications? Though i am somewhat confident my current qualifications should help a bit...what are your thoughts?
