In 2 or 3 years, all processing will done in a matter of days with Just In Time processing. Applicants in 2-3 years will laugh at us - taking 6-7 months to process, etc, when it will take them a matter of days.

I think Canada should learn from Australia, processing time is 3 months. No such thing as routine or non-routine, whatever your condition, get it or rejected in 3 months.
With a big gap of processing time, like some people could get it in 5 months and some 40 months, I think it's very natural for those who got it after so long would feel that they have less obligation to the country than those who got it very fast.

Drea Congratulations. I wanted to ask you if you had any absent days during your 3 years residence?

+1. It should take up to one year MAX. No excuse for a 2-3 year processing time.

Thanks a lot Drea,

Did you have any travel out of the country after getting your PR?

I am just trying to be positive and make an estimate how long will it take for me :)

Hello dnyfyn! Yes, I went for a 10-day vacation to Mexico + a 5-day business trip to Austria. I steered clear of the US![/b]

Congrats Drea!

Although I must confess that I feel a little bitter when I read this kind of posts as I've applied 38 months ago and haven't even been invited to take the test yet, just got an RQ after I called the call centre to find out what's up after waiting for 2 years already, so, yeah, 6 months... I envy you :)

I did my test and was given a request to translate my passport to english. it took 40 days to finish the translation and sent it express mail. called them 2 months later they said we received the envellp but we dont know whts in it as no one opened it. i was shoked. long story short almost year after my test wifh no hope.. i emailed the MP office in my area brampton. they asked me to sign a form and two days later got a call the MP office congrats me and told me be ready with 10 days u r getting ur oath ceremonay. my advice dont wait just call ur mp office they will help
