Basically, I work as an assistant manager for a medium-sized local shop, they are neither too big nor too small. They have an accountant handling all employees' payroll, they made a mistake reporting me working 40 hours while I only worked 30 hours per week.

They, of course, fixed the issue for 2025, and they couldn't fix it for 2024. My employer said it's in my best interest since he paid more contributions than he should.

I want to know what to do to make things clear for immigration I don't want any misrepresentation that can jeopardize my application.

Also, the fix in 2025 is basically just them showing a big deduction of money on my pay stubs.

My question is should I ask my employer for a letter of explanation about the error they made on my payroll, or should I not stress over it and just upload it the way it is, they will understand the big deduction on their own.

You should definitely ask your employer for a formal letter explaining the payroll error and the correction made. Having a clear written explanation can help clarify the situation for immigration and show you are being transparent. Uploading the pay stubs alone with large deductions might raise questions, so the letter will help prevent any misunderstandings or concerns about misrepresentation. It’s always better to proactively provide context in these cases to avoid delays or issues with your application.
