Yes it will be more helpful than ECAS, especially if it's updated more regularly. It will be great to know when eligibility is passed as that is what I am waiting to see so I know there is no interview.

To confirm what you think about eligibility (I hope you are right, after being in process for over 4 months I sure hope they have started looking at our file!) we need someone who is in process under ECAS but shows not started under eligibility review in MyCIC. Does anyone's look like that?

GCMS notes are far better than MyCIC, the only thing I have noticed was the messaging part which is essential for me as to avoid looking everyday on my spam folder for email from the visa office might get lost.

Any one Pls help me..if our case is handled by a lawyer
As representative..then who will link application to my CIC. Lawyer or sponsor n applicant..
Who's info use pa or sponser?
Sponser have 2 dependant child but in canada..we have to include that kids in new sponser wife application in my cic details.famly member 2 or 4

After much hype and waiting here is what I see when I link my application:

Application/profile status-Open
Review of eligibility-Review in Progress
Review of medical results-Passed
Review of submitted documents
Scheduling an interview -Not needed at this time
A background check is needed-Not Started
Final decision-Not Started

Do you think when it says the review of eligibility is in progress it means they are actually working on it? My last notes showed they had done nothing.
No this is the same as IN PROCESS. it doesnt mean that an officer is currently working on the file.my case is submitted in dec and mine one is showing the same, another fellow's application submitted in march showing the same..it simply means that it is waiting for an officer review.

Thanks for the reply. So from reading through the responses on this thread and the other similar ones, here are my early thoughts on what it means/how helpful this is:

Review of eligibility - will be useful only once it says passed because review in progress = ECAS in process which means nothing

Review of medical results - anyone who ordered notes before already knew this and for spousal sponsorships almost no one fails so seeing that it is passed is nice but not super informative

Review of submitted documents - not sure if/when this is updated

Scheduling an interview - you would be notified by letter anyway so not new info and based on one members report this is still not updated even though they have already received a letter about being put in interview queue so may only update once scheduled

A background check is needed - will be nice to know when this is started so I believe it will be helpful although I assume currently this happens almost automatically once eligibility is passed for outland applications

Final decision - will be very exciting once this says in progress as you will know you are almost there! Will be interesting to start seeing reports of how long the final decision takes to be made once everything else says passed.

Hopefully it will become more clear what it all means as more people post what their My CIC looks like and we see the statuses change.

It's very simple.

Have the PA fill the consent form. PA info in Section A, Sponsor in Section C, select email.

Sign and scan the form.

Upload it when prompted.

For the actual ordering of the notes, you want to choose permanent residence, and the electronic notes of the visa officer.

Everything else is very straight forward.

I applied in February. I'm waiting on my fourth set of notes now which the due date is July 31. I will reorder them once they arrive.

Is it still section A for the PA, and section C for the sponsor?

I can't seem to understand who fills what in the new form.

To order GCMS notes, does the sponsor need to be in Canada? I'm based abroad, and I'm the sponsor, so can I still order the notes?

I don't understand why people need to order GCMS notes every month?? ordering these notes does not speed up the process..

you guys are wasting time and resources of CIC staff.. please don't abuse the system..

Hey. It finally worked for me.
You know what did the trick?
A space in City of birth.

They apparently didn't update their system with my father's city of birth.
Just leaving it blank didn't work. I had to press the space button.

I also put 6 for family size: Sponsor, 4 sponsored people, wife of sponsor.

I hope this info helps others who are struggling to link.
