Applied for Manitoba Provincial Nomination in May 2011 and got refusal with the following remarks

You were not able to demonstrate that your ties to Manitoba are stronger than the ties you have to the
Province of Alberta which you visited in the past, indicated as the destination for your previous permanent resident application and where your in laws and your son are currently residing.

What is the success rate of appeal in such cases. Whether I should go for that or not. If so, whether I should move through immigration lawyer or on my own. Please advise.

Dear friend first of all read their website and secondly you can always apply even if you have relatives but you have to prove that you have stronger ties in Manitoba and have genuine intentions to live and work there. I have seen elsewhere here that people got their applications rejected because they had relative in other provinces and could not satisfy the MPNP that they will work and live in Manitoba. And I think it is fair enough that they accept us for immigration on the condition that we would live and work there. We should honestly decide what is our intended destination in Canada (i.e Manitoba) and apply; otherwise it will be waste of time and resources.

I got the LOA dated 29 May 2012.

Congratulations. I noticed you applied under the strategic stream. Did you go on exploratory visit to Manitoba?

I don't think so.. I think I am the only person in the history of this Canadavisa site who is waiting for the LOA since dec 2010 :o

It should be in Guinness book of world records lol.

I have had this kind of decision, I sent an appeal but was still refused. So I applied where my close kins are living and got approved..Just click my signature and see our timelines...
