MPNP General Stream Applicants

Did you state to MPNP to send them the result to your sponsor or to you?

If the letter is to be sent to your sponsor, ask your sponsor. This is usually better because your sponsor can know your result quicker and they can send you the original LOA by courier. My sponsor got the LOA within the week.

Otherwise, if you asked them to send the result directly to you by post, then give it longer time. In my own experience of sending registered post abroad (to UK from PH) it took 1 and half months. Could be the same from Canada to PH.

The questions are okay, they asked the same thing to my uncle, what he is willing to do to help me out, what he knows about me lately, i.e. my job etc.

My daughter is studying (International Student) at Toronto, and i want to apply under MPNP Manitoba. My application under FSW was terminated as backlogs. I have no relative in Canada except my friend in Manitoba. Is my daughter study at Toronto has any negative effect on a/c of my MPNP application. In my FSW application i mentioned my destination TORONTO.

Dear Everyone,

For those who think that MPNP is not for them, they may want to explore under Federal Skilled Worker category for faster processing of permanent residency. My profession is included in the 24 in demand list but unfortunately I will not qualify because I am not practicing my profession at present. The FSW category would require at least one full year of practice in your profession within the 10 year period.

Please see the list of profession in this link together with the corresponding cap still available.

Hope this will help those who will qualify under FSW and not with the MPNP.

Don't worry about submitting both SP1 and SP2 together. I also did that (online application - January 2013) along with my sponsor's other required documents and they didn't contact my sponsor anymore until the interview.

I just want to ask the percentage of approval on General Stream. If somebody know.

Just like mine, I was being sponsored by a friend and my job is not regulated. I still hope it will still be enough for an Approval.

I heard that April 2013 onwards MPNP would not priortize Family stream applicants outside Canada, than General stream outside Canada.
It means from April 2013 onwards online applicants, MPNP processing would be same for GS and FS applicants ? or it's just rumor, as of now till date MPNP priortize FS applicants, GS applicants has 2 to 3 years processing time, and very few General stream applicants are accepted (given LOA), almost LOA is given to FS applicants. It that true. Please reply.

Hi manavgupta,

I will answer your question differently by stating my own experience. I applied via Family Stream 2x, yes, got rejected 2x because MPNP kept on saying that my work experience is not enough. I was advised by a Manitoba immigrant adviser to try via General Stream because they count work experiences as equivalents because my former work were part-time and FS is not counting it as equivalent to two years. Whereas, with GS, a six months equivalent of work experience will be equal to 2 points.

Anyway, I applied GS stream via online just this year, January 2013 and I got my LOA in July 2013. So, I have already submitted my documents September 2013 and waiting now for my MR. So, applying online probably made my application faster.

GS online only started this year in January. So the year before that, they have been expediting the FS applications online. I have read in one thread that they are going to use a point based system for MPNP and will give equal chances for both GS and FS streams.

Welcome to the Forum!

I can't mention any figure but as I have observed and read here, there are a lot of successful immigrants under GS and FS. As Long as you can demonstrate that you can be a successful Immigrant to the province then I should say -- you have the Chance!

i think they already abolished the family stream kindly refer to the news in cic website..they mentioned about it..for the gs applicants, it depends on your visa office, here in the Philippines its 11months of processing, nomination is not included..but i think the process is a more faster than before.
