As for my opinion, it's better not to mention about your relatives in other province, this is what my auntie told me during my application. I also have close relatives in Toronto, Sasketchawan and Montreal but I did not mention them for it may put my application at risk. What the MPNP wants is your connection to Manitoba and not with other province.

everstranger35 is right, it may affect your application since your tie is not only in Manitoba but more in Quebec. You have to weight things as we don't know if they can trace your relative/s in other province of Canada. If they found out, that may put you in much trouble.

Let see what will other members would say especially to those who did not declare their relatives in other province.

one thing to clarify ... if the person nominated say in manitoba wants to settle outside the province...how many years does the person needs to stay in manitoba before he/she can go and settle to other state? coz as far as i know , the sponsor will be affected if you will break the rule of not establishin inside the province within a certain period of time?

As much as you can stay in Manitoba the better. Just think of the person or people who sponsored you, it will greatly affect them with regards to sponsoring future applicants. If you will be given nomination and eventually visa, then you owe Manitoba for that. In return, in my opinion, you should give your service with their province which is the main goal of MPNP.

But ofcourse the decision is all up to you. This is how I see and think how MPNP works.

Tweety05 you are absolutely correct. We owe that responsibility to our sponsors and even more to the province. We are privileged to have been considered worthy of being given the MPNP nomination (if we get it) and as such should fulfil our own part of the bargain. I know it might be a bit of a challenge settling down in terms of work, etc but if we are resolute we can and will make it.

It is safer not to mention relatives staying out of Manitoba.

Honestly, I really don't have any idea. As far as I know, there is no statement from MPNP on how long should you be staying with them before you can transfer. So, I assume that they are expecting nominees to stay with them for good.

Let us wait for other members to answer, they might have different views from mine.

That is what most people say. Sponsors who sponsored applicants that successfully got their nominations and transferred to other province of Canada may affect applications from future sponsorships or worst may not be able to sponsor future applicants.

Although I can't find that statement from MPNP website, I believe that nominees should stay in the province of Manitoba as this is the main purpose of the program.

hi all,

I applied for MPNP in jan 2012 under general steam(mail) from India. I got AOR on 5 June and sponsor interview on 1 sep. but still i am waiting for LOR.
I am little worried becoz it shouldn't take that much time to get LOR after sponsor interview. So could anyone tell me that how can i find out about LOR and immigration s' decision? how can i contact to MPNP office. Becoz i heard that it takes only one to two weeks after sponsor interview.

I mean,they sad - you have completed a minimum of a one-year,post secondary educational or training program and receved a diploma,certificate or degree! It was approve on sept 12. We did not get any email before, just the letter!
now the federal fun begins!!! good luck to all and if anyone have any questions for me I'll be happy to answer!

Also Im not sure how to update my timeline, so if someone coul do it it would be great!

Did they ask for any additional documents when your receive the file number/AOR? After you receive the AOR, were you interviewed? Sorry, I don't have much idea about Strategic Initiative.
