I was reading some guidelines on a certain website and on the eligibility part it says that:
( I checked all the part that I believe I already have )

1. Age ✔✔✔✔✔✔
You are between 21 and 49 years old.

People in this age range can manage the cultural, linguistic and economic challenges involved in moving to work in a new country, including the possible need to retrain or pass rigorous certification or licensing processes for some jobs.

2. Education✔✔✔✔✔✔✔
You completed secondary (high) school and have at least one year post-secondary education or training for which you earned a post-secondary diploma or degree.

People who have completed some post-secondary education can better meet the qualification requirements of Manitoba employers and adapt to the changing demands of the workplace.

3. Work Experience
You have at least two years of full-time work experience in the past five years.

Having recent employment helps ensure that you have the skills and experience that are in demand in Manitoba, helping you find a job in your intended occupation and increasing your potential for long-term career success.

4. Language Ability✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔
You completed your secondary and post-secondary education in English or French, or scored at least 5 on an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test. (New language requirements)

The experience of many thousands of people from around the world who have moved to Manitoba through the MPNP shows that the key challenge of immigrants is they needed better English language skills.

Having at least this level of English, and being willing to improve your language skills, will help you get a good job, participate in training and licensing or certification programs that will help you meet the occupational demands and get ahead in the Manitoba workplace.

5. Adaptability✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔
With your application you must submit a Settlement Plan that explains the steps you will take to establish your career and your home in Manitoba and have your plan endorsed by a close relative who has lived in Manitoba as a permanent resident for at least one year.

Settling in Manitoba as a permanent resident will take a period of adjustment. You need to be able to support yourself and your family during that time. Having the (non-financial) support of family who live in Manitoba will increase your potential for success.

My question would be:

What if i don't have enough work experience? well I only have 4 months of work experience but that was back in 2005 before I went to school for college, now I just started to work as a call center agent. Would they honor my 2005 work experience? or it has to be the recent one?

I am all set and I think my credentials are strong, my only concern is the work experience part.. :( :( :( :(

hi there allan..

dont lose hope..how many months are you in ur work now? it says in the application dat a continuous 6 months service is equivalent to 1 point so dnt fret.. if u have at least 5 years straight work experience then there will be no problem with that.. but my problem is i dnt think u can use the previous work u have before u went to college.. if u think u still lack working experience den u have to save up more working experience for u to qualify.. why dnt u try to assess ur point in the pointing system? if u are above 55 points then ur qualified but if not maybe u can also try other things to supplement ur point like making a score of 8 or 9 in the ielts. gudlak. i will email u so we can change digits and tok to each other

hello everyone..
good day.
i need your helpful information regarding my application.
i submitted my MPNP application kit last january 2012 and i received a letter on april 2012 and all my documents were returned to me. it says in the letter that i have to provide the result of my ielts and a birth certificate of my cousin to prove our relationship because i am applying under family support stream. i have arranged all the needed requirements and i have decided to submit them online instead of paper-based application.
i am a teacher here in the philippines. i have already my file number and i am waiting for my result. do teachers like me have a chance to be approved in the application? please help me.. my cousin said that she will wait for the call coming from the immigration if not this month, or next month. i hope i have the chance to be approved because i have completed all the requirements they have requested me to complete and my relative has already signed the settlement plan for me. do u think i have the chance?
I hope your sponsor will be interviewed soon.

Family Stream is a priority stream. It is not a pointing system unlike with General Stream. There is a big chance for approval as long as you satisfy the MPNP elibility criteria stated in their website.

Good luck on your application and God bless us all :)

Is settlement plan required in MPNP General stream (Applied through mail)

I applied my case (MPNP General steram) through mail in 2010 dec and settlement plan was not mentioned there when I applied. Should my sponsor write the settlement plan and then I mail it as my appeal ? Can I do it ? or Settlement plan is not required in my case ?

I applied through mail in 2010.

I am asking it because my MPNP General stream case was rejected and in one option they said that I haven't demonstrated the ability and intention to establish myself in Manitoba.

Thanks for the reply.
Hello Manitoba 123 :)

I am trying to retrieve your post about the rejection of your application. May I know when and how were you notified about it? Is that the the sole reason for your disapproval?

Regarding SP1 & 2: Excerpt from MPNP website:
Note that the MPNP has replaced the previous mail form Manitoba Affidavit of Support (MAS) with the Settlement Plan. This new, two-part form is a simpler way for applicants to demonstrate they have the support of family or friends in Manitoba. (Applications underway with the old form MAS will continue to be accepted until Oct. 1, 2012.)

Hello :)

One of MPNP's eligibility criteria is WORK EXPERIENCE that should be at least 2years of full-time work experience in the past five years. If you are saying that you only have 4 months of work experience that was 7 years ago, I think that will not suffice the criteria. Sorry :( but I just based my answer from MPNP website. We can also wait for other members to answer your query esp for members who have the same case as yours.

How long have you been working as a call center agent since you said you just started? In what stream do you plan to apply?
