I believe that your sponsor has told you the right thing to do. It is far better to submit bank statement(s) as this will show a clear financial history of your funds. This also indicates that the funds is transferable. The bank statement(s) should be in your name and for the last 3 months. But the bank certificate will only show your balance with no history and no indication that it is transferable. Thanks.

BTW, what do you mean by transferable funds? does it related to savings / current account? please enlighten.. :)thanks,

thanks Mr. David...but as of this time the documents are ready for submission courtesy of my sponsor in manitoba together with the MAS...given that it is submitted to MPNP, do you think my application be accepted or will it be rejected in the process if they noticed the settlement fund as it is just a bank certificate? or if they are kind enough, will they accept it and subsequently request for supplimentary documents later?...appreciated,

it won't be totally rejected.. but someone i know got her entire application package returned to her (including bank certificate) because she did not include at least 3 months of bank statement (which of course means delay).. or maybe it depends on the consul who will hold your application, he may be kind enough to accept your bank statement but asks you to update later..but it is important that your account is in your name.

small query guys re: settlement funds, i submitted only bank certificate dated january 2012, but my sponsor told me about bank statement which constitutes of 3 months period..do you think bank certificate (up-to-date amount in the bank) can do? thanks

Hi. The checklist clearly says "balance and history for the last three months". I know somebody who submitted his financial statements covering 2 months only and his application was returned by MPNP. They reiterated to the applicant that they need "3 months". Hope this helps.

I think "Transferable" means liquid assets, like cash. In case you are granted a permanent resident visa, transferable funds refers to actual money that you will transfer to Canada for your settlement. In contrast, assets such as real property cannot be "transferred". You must liquidate it first before it becomes transferable. I hope this helps.

This simply means liquid assets (i.e. cash). The cash in your savings or current account in your local bank account, even in your domicialiary account is transferable or collectable.

Likewise,I agreed totally with what BlessedMe said in the forum- very much correct. It is well.

Oh i see...how if my account (here in KSA) has been in-active for more than 6 months since august 2011 and made the deposite last february 2012, with the certain amount for securing bank certificate or statements..would it be acceptable even i will reflect only the amount covering the month of feburary 2012 or should I start the date back on august 2011? i hope my query is clear :)

as far as i know, even if inactive, as long as the account is open and there is money in it, there is no problem... you don't have to start from the beginning (August 2011)... start from the time you submit then count 3 months backwards..if you submit on March 2011, then you can start from December 2011...it won't reflect if there is no movement from August 2011, what will appear is the money present in your account from December 2011 and the progress of the account afterwards

me too waiting for LOA......I applied in AUG

I would like to ask regarding sponsorship. I have a pending application with Manitoba Provincial Nomination Program under General Stream and my sponsors are my sister and my brother-in-law. Currently, my sister is planning to resign from her current job. Would that affect in anyway on my application? Are they both required to have a job? Is it necessary that both of them are currently employed? What if they just transferred to other company? would that be a set-back? What if their household income is more than enough to cover the required amount 'coz my bro-in-law is an architect?

Need you help guys!!!!

Thanks everyone!

MPNP will definitely ask you to submit employment certificate. Tell your company/employer nalang na you are requesting employment certificate for your personal file lang. isusulat naman nila "This certificate is being issued upon his/her request for whatever legal purpose it may serve." hope this could help ;)

that won't be a problem...as long as they can satisfy the Immig. officer that they can support you when you arrive in Canada... afterall, they are more specific with your account (bank and assets), rather than the sponsors'..but always keep in touch with them so you can both update each other, especially about you because the interview on them will be all about you...

i agree to santos_1024... the checklist says "certificate of employment" and we have to submit what was written..otherwise, your application will be deemed incomplete, and sooner or later, the VO will still ask for it..
