Hi ,

I want to apply for immigration of my mother, I understand about the rules of income thresholds.

I want to inquire about the options for my sister as well , who is 20 yrs plus.

she is slow child and dependent to my mother.

can my sister be included as a dependent in the immigration application.

thanks.

You can only apply to sponsor your parents and their dependents under 22 years old when you have 3 years of income in Canada. Parents can include older dependents who are medically and financially dependent on them, Unfortunately your sister could lead to your mother being refused if she is deemed to be medically admissible which will likely include the cost of her care if your mother is no longer t care for her. It is called the PGP program.

In addition to canuck78's post, here is a few basic requirement for parents sponsorship:
1) Sponsor living in Canada
2) Sponsor meets RO (any sponsorship)
3) Sponsor able to provide previous 3 years of NOA (document from Revenue Canada after you flied income tax for the previous year) of income meeting/exceeding the requirement post in IRCC for parents sponsorship.

And we do not know what is going to happen 3 years or so from now. PGP has been changing all these years.

Hi ,

thanks for the detailed answer, as of now she is not in a condition to be medically admissible, just wanted to have an advise on two following points as of now .

1. she is not in a condition which requires her to be medically admissible but when we lodge application , does the approval of application vary case to case ? is there any provision to show funds to cover medical cost ( if there is any ) , let say for long time.

2. do you know of history of such cases , like how likely is it to give it a chance ?

Thanks
appreciate your feedback.
