Hi all

first of all thank you for reading my text :-)

We are a young Swiss family with two kids. My husband's mom, uncle, aunt and one brother are permanent residents in Canada. My husband lived in Canada from age 12 to 18 and finished high school in Ontario. Due to personal circumstances he had to come back to Switzerland and lost his immigration status in 1998. Now my question is, if a Family Class Sponsorship through his mother would be possible? I couldn't find the answer on this homepage. Only the other way around (kids in Canada sponsor their parents outside of Canada). We would also have the possibility to apply as a skilled worker, but this would be much more difficult I guess.

I would be very happy if somebody could answer my question.

Best regards

Unfortunately it's not possible for his mother to sponsor him through family class. If she had no family in Canada - this might be possible. The fact that so many other family members are in Canada makes this a non-starter.

You'll have to explore immigrating independently.
