Hello everyone,

I'm new here. I'm Canadian and live in Quebec and my wife is Russian living in Russia.

She's just read about a girl (user CheryMery, civil partnership, student, 26yo) writing on the chemodan.ua forum about getting mail from the Moscow office today saying that her file is now opened in Moscow. Her dates are very close to ours (we are 2-3 days after). I think we should get the same letter soon (fingers crossed! ;)). By the way her E-CAS status online didn't change yet; they will update it later I suppose.

Here are her dates and ours in ():

Family class. Moscow visa office
Medical Examination - September 09,2010 (Oct 10, 2010)
Application received to Mississagua - December 7, 2010 (Dec 9, 2010)
Sponsor approved - January 10,2011 (Jan 12, 2011)
Application Received in Moscow and Medical results have been received January 18, 2011 (Jan 25, 2011)

Her link (remove []): [www].forum.chemodan.ua/index.php?showuser=46269

By the way Spousal sponsorship processing times have been reduced to 36 days (down from 43 I think) recently: the link (remove []) is [www].cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp

Does this mirror anyone's experience here?
Thanks for your input! Any info would be much appreciated during this crazy waiting period :o

Welcome to the board.
Dont know about 43 days on average its 34 id say. Mine was 31 days.u can check ny timeline in my signiture. I im in process since yesterday.where abouts is ur wife from.

Thank you Dmitri!

My wife is from Cheboksary. One question: in e-cas I can read:

We received *** ***'s application for permanent residence on January 25, 2011.
Medical results have been received.

This Jan 25th date, is it what is considered AOR or I / we should receive something else by mail / email / e-cas?
Thank again!

No thats not aor. Ur wife will receive a letter or email with the file number when they start working on the file.did she indicate her email on her spplication?if so most likely an email.my ecas still says not available under pr app process

Not yet AOR... That's what I was afraid of :( Yes, she did indicate her email address in the forms.

In my case, my wife recieved AOR by email on a Monday afternoon (her time) Nov. 22, 2010. The letter was dated Oct. 11, 2010 (6 days after sponsor approval). We were super excited as that was the fastest opening time I had ever seen. Ecas was later updated the following week on a Tuesday saying they started processing our application on Nov. 22.

There is a good chance that Jan. 25 will be your AOR date.

Glad to see everyones applications seem to be moving all of a sudden. Something tells me they are focusing on family class now :D

Hopefully! :)

Your wife received the AOR email on Nov 22 but it was dated back to Oct 11 ?!?

BTW my wife did not receive any email yet so maybe Jan 25 is not our AOR date yet :(

Well I wouldn't say that, everyone gets AOR different method and I think it depends on the officer and how they like to do business. My guess is that Jan. 25 is your AOR date and you probably have a letter going to either yourself or your wife in Russia.

I know Tallen found out recently that back in July his wife didn't get a letter about an interview. So it appears that it was lost somewhere. I'm happy my officer likes to send by email, it's immediate and much more certain that it will arrive at its destination.

Wait about a week and if you don't get a letter, you could send email telling them you noticed an updated but didn't recieve a letter or email. They would probably confirm the AOR delivery method to you.

Good points! Will do. Thank you!!

Thanks ubernemo for this link.

Wow! Such quick timing, This has to be proof that there is down time for family class at certain points, we all experienced it at the end of last year. Now things are normal and the wave is moving :D if she gets approved before me, I'm going to become a crazy man! ???

If she gets approved before me, I'm going to become a crazy man! Huh

Exactly what my wife said would happen to me :)

Btw I found this info about CAIPS codes (remove []):
[www].immigrationguides.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=203

Anyone ordered CAIPS notes? How long does it take to get them? Any impact on processing speed?

I ordered last week (letter arrived in Ottawa on Friday). It takes a little over 30 days. No impact on processing speed, that I'm aware of. Plan on ordering every month now as I'm approaching 3 months since opening and want to know if there is advancements.

Off Topic: do not use mail.ru emails

This just came to my attention:
