Ok Guys, it's 9:18am in Ontario and I called CIC.

I told what I sent and the reply was "I don't know what you can send more" :eek: LIKE ARE YOU KIDDING ME OR WHAT????

Well as suggested from you, what I am doing is:
- Journal of our common-in-law relationship up to date (in which I include part of skype conversations, facebook messages, flight tickets, pictures, presents) - I did the first 6 months and I am already at page 33 :)
- notarised common-in-law declaration;
- emails between me and my partner's parents;
- more statutory declaration + another letter from my partner's parents explain we live with them that's why we don't have bills at our name and including some hydro, water, gas, phone bills at my partner's father name;
- 300 pages of skype conversations between me and my partner;
- about 100 emails between me and my partner;
- a new letter from the bank stating we have a joint bank account since December 2010;
- emails to the wedding planner in Barbados, about the organisation of our wedding in April 2013 (hoping we don't have to postpone);
- we have 2nd joint bank account opened in September 2011;
- pictures of my 2 diamond rings my partner has given to me as gift to celebrate our love

And anything more it will come in my mind :)

Just to let people in my same situation know, when I sent my application 11 months ago, I sent the police certificates but not the medical exams. The CIC agent this morning told me the police certificates don't expire I only have to sent them once. And he also add that to speed up the 2nd step I can sent my medical exams now.
Just to be precise I applied for PR in land.

p.s. Some of you have sent to CIC the Facebook logs. What does that mean? email and password of my and my partner's facebook account?

Thank you guys for all the support and precious help!!
i had a feeling they would say that.
they dont seem to be very helpful. and usually the person that answers the phone is just a call center agent.

anyways the list of stuff you are going to send seems sufficient.
if over the next month you find any more evidence, add that too.
it should be fine with the extra evidence :)
good luck!!

no, unfortunatly cic doesnt need your password to access your facebook account. they can see everything even if you have high security settings..

people mean they sents print screen shots from their facebook pages. its helps because facebook usually has the dates right on their.

A good way to do the facebook print is go to your partners page, on the left hand side there will be a pull down and you can choose the option "see friendship", this will bring you to a page that will show all your mutual friends, recent posts, how long you have known eachother, pictures that have both of you, a complete breakdown of your facebook history together. This is what I sent and I think its great because everything is right there :)

Oh wow,

I just read this thread and now I'm starting to worry. :eek:
My boyfriend and I sent out our inland application in February 2012 under common-law as well and we have about the same kind of proof as you do with the exception that we have a lease together and I am the sole beneficiary of my boyfriend's life insurance, however we have no joint account. (I am the sponsor)

Let us know how this works out for you as I'm really curious now.

Good luck!
you will be fine.
a lease is one of the number one things they look for in common-law because its proof you both have ur names on the same apartment and it shows how long you have lived there. which should be 12 months or more.

and the life insurance is also very good!. thats a huge thing to do when you are living in a marriage like relationship to add your spouse as the beneficiary.. how many gf bf couples do you know that have eachother has benficiaries on their insurance.. i dont know any haha.

anyways those 2 pieces alone are really good evidence!. youll be fine :D

Haha, thanks!

Yeah I definitely hope that it's enough.

The lease doesn't show 12 months since it had only been 5 months (at the time of the application) that we were living in our apartment at that point. However, we mentioned that we had the intention of renewing our lease at the end of the year which we have in fact done. Before that, we were living together at my mother's house for 10 months and we made sure to have my mother write a notarized letter confirming that and his parents (back in Ireland) did the same. So, hopefully whoever is assigned to our case doesn't over look that and assume that we weren't common-law at that point.

This is whole process is definitely nerve-wrecking!

Thanks again :)

No not yet. The first year is up at the end of August. (But we already renewed it for a second year)

We were told by a visa officer, who has been giving us tips and unofficially helping us out, that it didn't matter because we had letters proving that we were living together before and that the lease would just confirm that we had the intention of continuing to live together.

Hello Everyone,

Ok, this is my work in progress :)

- Within the next couple of days 8 more letter from friends and family;
- Tomorrow I'm going to the public notary for the declaration of common-in-law relationship ($100) and he's going to sign the letter my partner's parents are going to write us stating we live in the house and that's why we dont have a lease and any bills at our name);
- The banks are going to write within the end of next week a letter stating I and my partner have 2 joint bank account;
- Next Monday I book the doctor and I'm going to do my medicals ($179);
- And of course now I'm keeping on with our beautiful journal :)))

Someone suggested me to get the history of my and my partner's facebook timeline. Thank you! amazing suggestion.

I'm getting organised :) I hope to send everything back to CIC within 2 weeks :)

Oh guys...can't wait to be a Canadian Permanent Resident!! :)))))

Thank you! Thank you!

Medicals not sure if it's gonna be more than $179. I took an appointment with a doctor of the list in Scarborough and she told me go to go there with $179 cash. So the price might be higher by the time I get out of the doctor :)

I should apply for a mortgage only to become a canadian resident lol just joking of course :)

$100...it appears very expensive to me as well...but what can I do? I live east of Toronto on Lake Ontario.

I feel positive :) and very tired I almost didnt sleep at all last night and I have been working on gathering all the possible documents since this morning and I guess I will keep on till I'm going to be :) yuppppyyyyy!!! Lovin' it lol sorry I know I might sound stupid but I need to keep high my happiness otherwise I will get depressed 8)

Hi everyone,

I applied common-law (outland) for my partner who is in the caribbean. I have been trying to add him to my current health insurance but they will not allow it and their coverage is terrible, so I am not renewing. I am in Canada and we lived common-law in the caribbean (Dominica) until I returned home a couple weeks ago. My partner is still in caribbean.

I see a lot of common-law partners state that they have joint health and life insurance naming each other as beneficiaries.. but I have been looking for a long time and cannot find a plan that would allow this.

Since I need new insurance anyway, I would like to add him when I apply. Any information on any companies that do this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Laura :)

I always see people saying one of the proofs for common-law was that they had joined insurance or naming one another beneficiaries... but yet I cannot find anyone who knows how to do it for an outland application...
