Quick question guys: One of my friend (inland applicant) applied for CSQ in oct 2017, he had 50 points when he applied. Now when he has 47 points as per this link (He lost 3 points in Area of Training)

https://www.canadavisa.com/quebec-skilled-worker-immigration.html#gs._148_SQ

Will it effect his application or his points will still be considered 50 as the rules changed after he applied.
Note: He has already got document request in April 2018 and has submitted his documents in June 2018.

Thanks in advance :)

Hi

Applications filed before August 2, 2018, will be processed using the selection grid in effect on August 1, 2018.

So, the points of your friend will remain the same.

You can find complete info on this link:

In which section , your friend's got deduction in points ? If its area of training , then yes , it will affect his application no matter what is or was the status of application.

Hi, did anyone with similar timeline get their csq?
2017-03 apply on monprojet
2018-01 receive document checklist
2018-03 document received
still processing......

Also, does anyone know if I would receive csq if my caq has not expired? (still a student, but has enough points)

Thanks~

Hey there,

The new list of area of training applies to all CSQ application, even those filed before August 2nd 2018.

The source is here: http://www.midi.gouv.qc.ca/publications/fr/gpi-npi/npi_2018/NPI_2018_014_LDF2018_FIN.PDF

The document is in French. Use Google Translate and check out the last paragraph of the document that confirms that the new list of area of training applies to all CSQ applications, including those submitted before August 2nd 2018.

Your friend who has now 47 points should try to get a job offer validation. It will boost him 8 points. It takes 2 to 3 months to get the job offer validation and he can still add it to his application. No need for the company to demonstrate recruitment efforts.

Hi all,
I sent my supporting document on Apr 2018 and keep waiting for CSQ.
Meanwhile, I have a newborn baby and I know it will add up 4 points.
My question is do I need to inform? I assume yes. Then, how should I inform them ? by mail? by email?
Please give me head-ups about this. Thanks a lot.
