I am posting because I need help. I have sponsored my spouse who recently landed in Canada. My spouse left me a short time ago with no warning. I never knew where my spouse was for days. My in-laws would not tell me. I finally found my spouse because of stroke of luck and found that my spouse had traveled halfway across Canada to stay with some relatives that I was unaware existed. I am now learning that this was a set up. We have children together. I am devastated and so are our children. Some of my in-laws disagree with my spouses actions as well as my family and friends and are insisting I report my spouse to CIC. They want my spouse deported, or at the very least, not under my sponsorship. I know that my spouse lied on the immigration application.
1. did not list relatives that had previously immigrated to Canada.
2. upon PPR, my spouse was ordered to resubmit a new Schedule A form on which my spouse did not admit to an arrest and conviction (fine to pay) that my spouse received in court during the application process.
3. did not update the requested Schedule A with new work history during the application process.
Also since my spouse left, there is a warrant for my spouse's arrest in conjunction with a theft.
What do I do? Are these things that CIC will care about? Does this warrant a deportation?
I am heartbroken and upset of the thought of deporting my spouse and my children's other parent. I also can't believe that someone would bring children into this world just for papers to Canada. Any factual advice is very much appreciated.
