Hi
A friend of mine was applying for both PR Card renewal (because they will travel for short trip)
AND for Citizenship application (they are eligible).

The problem is that they sent CITIZENSHIP photos into their PR renewal application. :(

In case you don't know... the photo dimensions are the same for both (PR & Citizenship),
However, the HEAD measurement requirements are not same in both applications.

For PR: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf
For citizenship: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/photospecs-cit.asp

Would CIC return their PR renewal application? or they would use a citizenship photos?

For their citizenship application, they will retake the picture since what they have now is the PR photos.

Thanks
Mary

The specs are the same however following is the difference:

PR card photo:
Back side of one photo should be blank.
2nd photo should have photographer/company name who clicked the pic and date the pic was taken and name of the person who appears in the photograph and date of birth
head to chin should be 25-30 mm

Citizenship photos
Both photos should have photographer/company name who clicked the pic and date the pic was taken and name of the person who appears in the photograph
head to chin should be 31-36 mm

If they don't accept the photos, they will return the whole package. I saw one guy in this forum having returned application as he forgot to write details on the back.

Thanks thecoolguysam ...

Its strange that the head measurement is different...
Probably they use the photos differently... or in different systems...

Also the PR photo ends up on a PR card... I guess there is no citizenship cards now :)

Anyway, I'm curious to know if they will use the citizenship photo measurements to process a PR card renewal... lets see! ;)
