Mistake in application form for minor - Please advise

Hi all..I had sent a family application in April and got a test invite for June 20. While consolidating docs for tests, I noticed a mistake made in my 16 year old son (minor) for the question: Has the child been out of Canada for over 6 months after becoming a PR. I gave the answer as "No" whereas I now noticed that he was out for 7.5 months and hence I should have ticked "yes" and provided the dates of absence. Though minors don't have residency calculations, since this could be treated as "misinterpretation", how can I inform CIC on this mistake and correct it (if it is possible)?

1. Shall I withdraw the son's application and wait for us to become citizen to apply again for him? or
2. Can I send a letter to local office with the correct information? Or,
3. Shall I wait for the test day (2 weeks from now) and inform the CIC officer during interview or doc checking as my son is also required to write the test?

Please guide me. I tried to call CIC earlier today and was taking a long time and has to disconnect. Thanks in advance.

Withdrawing application would be extreme. Drafting a letter explaining the error seems the best course of action to me. I wouldn't wait for the test as it may look like you only disclosed this when under the pressure of the interview.

Thanks Links18, I send a letter today to CIC local office detailing the mistake and also included the page 3 of the application form with the correct information. Hope they will accept. Will take a copy of these to the test as well and will detail to the officer also.
