Guys,
I just want to share my personal experience of Dubai. Back in 2004 i have worked in Dubai the name where i have worked is Al Maya Lal group. The day i landed there they have taken my passport. When i was in India they had promised me the one off i will get in a weeks time, but there also the entire story is changed i got only half day off. When i was in India i thought by the Bollywood movies that it is a very open country though it is a Muslim Nation, but when i landed there i got to understand that it is a open country but "Not for u" i mean the outsiders specially non muslims. I had spent around 7 months in UAE & came back to India.
Now Dubai nightmare is still following me as i need PCC from Dubai "A pre-request for Canadian Immigration visa processing. I made number of emails to Dubai police & still finding it a difficult task to get the PCC from them. I don't know what to do in this situation as they are very slow in replying.
Best wishes to all of you.
Avi

1. If Anyone can verify that Dubai Police accept demand draft or not.
2. I have read somewhere on the net that they do accept demand draft but that post is very old. There i have seen the person from our group only (Filipino Guy) has written that the demand letter shall be made in favour of Dubai Police General HQ.
I have emailed Dubai Police lot many times but no reply has been given in this regard.
Have anyone applied for PCC from Dubai in this group.
Avi

Once you have done this, you could provide reference numbers to a local contact / friend who could possibly help follow up on this.

I am sorry to hear of your experience but it has less to do with the place or the religion. The business you have quoted is largely Indian and by large non- Muslim, so it wouldn't be fair to paint the country with a biased brush.

If you need help here, I am sure there are many souls who would volunteer willingly, irrespective of their faith.
I can do your follow up if you want me to.

Akbar, it has nothing to do with religion, i have many many Muslim friends in India but the problem is that I was not treated well there. You are absolutely right that majority of Al Maya Lal Group management and their employees are Sindhis, but what can i say if they believes in such type of work culture. And on top of it the UAE government is harboring such companies by not looking at the conditions of their employees, i think it is the states duty to do so, if you are calling people to work for you "You should not take advantage of it, By forcing them to work more & holding their passports with them" this is absolutely wrong & i believe that the UAE Government is equally responsible for the same. UAE Government is not at all a employee friendly rather it is employer friendly state, therefore they ban a person for 2 years if he/she does not complete their tenure. Again i am sorry if i have hurted your feeling, anyways do you sincerely believe that being a Muslim yourself you are equal as the local of UAE, or you were respected the same way the way you are respecting a local of UAE!

This is a long debate and I count myself amongst thousands of Indians, that , alhamdullilah, life has been kind to me, Muslim or not.

Having said that, the offer to follow up is still open, once you have done your part.

Also, Dxb police is pretty savvy on social media. You can reach them on twitter @DubaipoliceHQ and they will respond immediately. Good luck. Hope it all goes smoothly.

Thanks for your concern Akbar & Zinghi, well tomorrow i am going to make DD in favour of DUBAI POLICE GENERAL HEADQUARTERS. FYI Akbar i visited Dubai Police website they have given links which have shared (Twitter & Facebook). I have asked them the same question on their facebook profile but i have not received any answer from them. Thanks a lot for your helping hand. Let me try it first, if things does not workout as per my expectation. I will surely take a favour from you. Thanks Avi

Guys just FYI for those who want to apply for PCC from Dubai. I have spoken to Mr Bashir there & he told me that the dd should be favoring "Dubai Police" not the "Dubai Police General Headquarters". Thanks Avi

Guys FYI if you want to make DD in India it is very difficult to get DD in AED "Dhirams". Dubai police also accept US dollar DD Pls confirm the fee on Phone & then make the DD for PCC from UAE.
