Oh my file also transferred on 1st of Feb, but nothing since then.. My background check was started even before the SA. Happy for you..

I haven't received anything. That's why I'm so worried nothing in my inbox. Not by mail. We did an address change for my wife. But submitted the change already too.
:O Oh not even the AOR (Acknowledgement of receipt) ? You better call CIC or send a web form inquiry and check the status.

I called my MP too. Not much help but they said they'll check for me every month. Will see if they keep their promise. I just sent a web form about half an hour ago (website states anything within normal processing time they won't reply) but given my situation hopefully they'll make an exception.

Wow, congrats! So fast!
We're June applicant, app transfered December 24 and BGC Started December 17. And we're still waiting. But we are happy for you! Also, glad to see things are moving at Mississauga office :)

Hello everyone
I'm wondering why BGC takes one day for some applications and more than three of five months for others ? I think that our situation is not complicated, I thought bgc would be faster (and I thought Mississauga was faster than others VO) I know every file is different and the process takes one year, I'm just wondering.

I had added my wife to my application before coming on PR and made her as non-accompanying. In the process of adding my wife to my application they asked for medical and PCC. after that i came to Canada on PR and then applied for spousal sponsorship and below is my timeline.

Outland sponsorship application
app received(Sydney, Nova Scotia) :- 15th Jan 2019
AOR:- 5th march 2019
file transferred to Mississauga:- 20 march 2019

question:-
1) how fast is this office in application process?
2) i did not got any SA yet? will i get that ever? where will i get it, over e-mail or through post or in CIC account? how will i approve it?
3) what are the further steps in the application process?
4) in CIC account its showing background check in process? Is this the last step?

Let me know if i am missing anything.

Thank you. Cheers.

Where do you plan on landing? My partner landed at Ogdensburg/Prescott border crossing on a Friday with no issues. This one is 24/7. We called CBSA to confirm 1-800-461-9999. Most of the Ontario border crossings allow PR landings arriving from the US side, it's only flagpoling cases where I've seen limitations.

I live in Ottawa, so I am planning to have my wife cross at Prescott as she is here on a Visitors Visa as her Outland PR is processed.

She has a valid B1 visa for the USA, so getting her over the border should not be a problem at all.

I was thinking of going into Ogdensburg for a little while then coming back with her COPR and passport. Is it worthwhile to do this or should we just do the quick U-turn and never actually leave Canada?

I don’t want to irritate the border guards on either side.

You don’t have to enter US if you don’t want to. Just tell the US boarder officer you are doing a “flagpole” for PR landing then U-turn back to Canada. They would know what flagpole means

Yeah I got the notification in the SA letter, I was just asking if they send something else after that stating they already started processing the PR.
Thanks for your answer
