This is a long shot (I think most people who land stop coming back to this forum) but I'm curious about anyone who has landed coming from the US on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday in Ontario... I have heard all about the flagpole limitations they have put in place and how they only want you to come Tuesday-Thursday, but I am wondering if these rules impact people who are legitimately landing from the U.S. (i.e. not flagpoling but actually coming from U.S. with belongings in tow).

At the 10 month mark, should we contact an MP to see what is going on with our file or just wait it out?

We contacted our MP earlier in the year when our app was transferred back to Mississauga from Ottawa because this was under heard of back then (in July)

We will be contacting a different MP this time. The MP in Kingston told literally “not to bother me anymore until 12 months have passed”

We are afraid that if we have the MP call, we will upset the IRCC agent and our app will be delayed.

So would it be a good idea to call/email the mo or just keep waiting?

I used FedEx and they were very helpful. Know that you can't request a pre-paid envelope in the FedexOffice store. You need to open an account at fedex.com, create a shipment online (do it with FedEx Ship Manager not the Lite version), and include return shipment. There will be outbound and return shipping labels, and outbound and return commercial invoices, to print and take with you then to the FedEx Office store. Save the PDF of the return commercial invoice (just today we had to send the return commercial invoice to FedEx because CIC Ottawa didn't include it with the CoPR being shipped to us).

Sent you a DM!

Ended up calling Leeds and Grenville and they said “we don’t deal with immigration”

I haven't had any experience, but could you call the place where you want to do your landing and check with them? I feel like that's probably your best bet to get a proper answer. I would *assume* that as long as you don't land during a super busy time it would be fine.

Where do you plan on landing? My partner landed at Ogdensburg/Prescott border crossing on a Friday with no issues. This one is 24/7. We called CBSA to confirm 1-800-461-9999. Most of the Ontario border crossings allow PR landings arriving from the US side, it's only flagpoling cases where I've seen limitations.

I just called the Peace Bridge and while they seemed confused by my question and kept telling me to make a landing appointment (I kept saying no, no, I'm a U.S. resident...) they ultimately did say I could come any day of the week. But I think I am going to go Tues-Thurs because my level of anxiety about this is through the roof. o_O

I decided to declare my car as goods to follow so I can stop worrying about it and land sooner and not have to land at a crossing I'm unfamiliar with (Lewiston-Queenston). I've crossed at Peace Bridge hundreds of times, so I think I will just feel more comfortable and confident doing my landing there. So now the plan is for me to land in about a week. (Of course I'm nervous about having issues declaring the car as goods to follow, although it's perfectly allowed, I have heard of people running into issues before...)

I guess this is why people with anxiety issues shouldn't go through this process eh  I'm almost done, I shouldn't be this anxious!

I can’t wait until I am able to be anxious about landing lol

Does anyone know what the process is for soft landing in canada? Can we go any place to do it for example? Thanks

Legally there is no concept of soft landing. Once you land, you are a PR, regardless of how long you stay in Canada after that. No special rules around it and doesn't matter where you enter, though you may run into trouble if you try to land in Quebec without a CSQ, that's about it.

Finally looks like the Mississauga office think it's time to get closer to finalizing my application.
Jan 16th 2017 applicant.

Jan 5 2018, request for updated Schedule A. Sent it the same day.
Jan 23, request for proof of sponsor's intent to return to Canada. My wife, the sponsor, lives in Canada since September 2017. Already sent the contract of the house we bought in Victoria BC to IRCC in September. I reminded them that they already have that on file and now also sent copies of my wife's BC Driver's Licence, BC Services Card, and utility bills for gas and electricity.
Jan 23, first online account update since March last year, "we are processing your background check".

I feel a bit hopeful now that they may actually finish this soon...

Oh FINALLY they move on with your app! About time! Keep checking your ecas - you should get DM pretty soon.

Got through to the call center. We actually got a super helpful agent for once. My wife spoke to the agent and so did I.

She put us on hold to verify our file and then put us on hold to get a second opinion on our file.

She is going to send a letter to CPC Mississauga telling them to update our file. Hopefully this gets some movement going.

Fingers crossed! I want to join all of you getting PPR!
