Ours is pretty much straight forward, just husband hot in trouble in USA years ago for drinking underage and a small fight with his dad, FBI record comes clean and no local police records as we know from calling them.

Any sort of blip like this has the potential to cause significant delays unfortunately, even if records are clean, based on what we have seen from some other members here. So I would just say going into it, you may expect a longer processing time than the average US applicant. Does your husband remember if he was charged with anything (misdemeanor, etc)? Even if nothing shows up on police records or the FBI check, it must be declared on his application. If not, and it's discovered later, it could be deemed misrepresentation, which is bad news bears.

Yep. 10 months here most likely because of a dismissed case

Even with a clean fbi pcc and legal opinion, it’s still caused delays

I misdemeanor I think. It was weird. In his state for certain people (his case being so young it was a 6 month probation for both). He was 18 I think for the underage drinking and 20 for the fight. It was something called SIS probation where it goes away after a while. I havent really got too many clear ideas as it a state to state thing.

So from what I read on here ^. It says people have to plead guilty but it shows up later as a non conviction. I will more than likely be making some phone calls to lawyers in his state too see.

Hi,
I'm currently sponsoring my husband from Jamaica. Application was sent in on sept, 27? 2017. Got email and phone call from Mississauga as I'm currently visiting my husband that they received it and gave us a file number as of Oct 2, 2017 and a UCI number.
Nothing more then that. On Nov 16, we received an email that they needed a piece to 1 form to be done, we did it and submitted it. Nov 17th we got another email stating we had to redo the schedule A background over. We did it submitted it. I then called the direct phone number to the immigration worker, they received It. So now I linked our application online , but it still says " application received". How come I haven't received since Oct 2 , 2017 until now my eligibility email to sponsor my husband and dependant child yet?. I've seen most get their eligibility a month later. Most of the people I know their whole process only took 7 months and they ate in Canada now.. Is something wrong with my application? Would they go as far to give us a file number and UCI number without a confirmed email to sponsor to begin with? Is there any reason they would send application back after having it since Oct 2017?. That would be a major waste of 4 months and our lives in limbo.??!!

Hi there. I have seen delays for the sponsor approval letter, although in many cases this is because the sponsor is actually refused. Do you have any idea about what could be wrong with your case? Is your income enough to support a family of three? Are you a Canadian citizen? Anything at all that maybe could make you ineligible to sponsor your family? It could just be that they're taking their sweet time, although 4 months for sponsor approval isn't normal.

Has anyone gotten their photos for PPR done inside the US?

And if so where? I tried going to a walgreens today and they said they couldn't cut the photos to the right specifications

Hi there I'm on disability, make enough and actually there's really no limit a lawyer said to be denied that unless it was like 100.00$ a month.
That it is not entirely true. Although there is no minimum amount for spousal sponsorship, you have to prove that your income is enough to support financially the people you are sponsoring. Unless you are making almost 37k a year, you can expect trouble if that's the only proof you are submitting as to your ability to support your relatives. If your family size is bigger, then you'd have to show a higher income. Are you sure the previous person you sponsored never went on welfare? You could also order GMCS notes to know what's going on.

Places like Walgreens and CVS usually can't do it because their template is only formatted for US passport photos. You can go to a professional photographer's studio, just google photography studios near you that specialize in ID photos including Canadian PR card photos.

I had been experienced the same. First Walgreen, then Costco, none of them could do it. Then I found a local photography studio and finally got the photo taken.
