So received DM and PPR finally!! Of course one week after deciding to move back to the states to work while I wait

I have a couple questions regarding the process.

I plan to use FedEx to ship the things they want. I'm currently in the US so is this the best company to use? Do we have any idea how long it takes to get COPR? I'm trying to decide when to book a flight.

Also I'm a bit confused as to how to get back to Canada. Can I fly back there with COPR and do my "landing" interview there? I saw in another post that you can't fly with just the COPR. Is this true?

Woohoo, congrats!

I've seen that FedEx tends to be the most popular courier to use if you are sending from the US.

COPR takes about 2-3 weeks (seems to be trending closer to 3 weeks lately) once your docs arrive in Ottawa.

Yes you can fly to Canada and land at the airport. The post you saw was likely referring to someone who had ALREADY landed. Once you land, you have to have your PR card to fly (can't just use your COPR). Just your COPR is fine to cross via land border however.

Awesome thanks for that information! I believe FedEx is what I'll use then.

I used FedEx and they were very helpful. Know that you can't request a pre-paid envelope in the FedexOffice store. You need to open an account at fedex.com, create a shipment online (do it with FedEx Ship Manager not the Lite version), and include return shipment. There will be outbound and return shipping labels, and outbound and return commercial invoices, to print and take with you then to the FedEx Office store. Save the PDF of the return commercial invoice (just today we had to send the return commercial invoice to FedEx because CIC Ottawa didn't include it with the CoPR being shipped to us).

For a straight forward case, we have seen approval in 6-8 months, respectfully.
Ours is pretty much straight forward, just husband hot in trouble in USA years ago for drinking underage and a small fight with his dad, FBI record comes clean and no local police records as we know from calling them.

Jealous of everyone who is getting dm and ppr! Ten months on the 29 for us. Sure hope something happens soon!
