Yes they did tell me that BGC started. Yours will start soon too, usually at times they start it and GCKEY not updated. I have seen so many cases where BGC starts and 2 to 3 days goes to DM. So be positive, its gonna be DM very soon
Thank you, what month did you apply, can't see your original post! Just wondering if I'm being too impatient as this is our 7 months this month

I applied in Sep.2017. And yes your app should be done by now offcourse. You can inquire the CPC-Miss by calling them and they may tell you whats going on.
But at times due to Dec holidays things do get slow. Now in Jan they will again get fast hopefully and your file be picked up and will be completed.
But please do give them a call (assuming your VO is CPC-Miss)

If it’s only 7 months at this point, their app has no reason to be done really. It’s just a PITA waiting

Received ppr today. Submitted application July 27.

What I don't understand is the IMM-5688 form. Where do we recieve this form?
The IM5688 form is your Confirmation of Permanent Residence document.

(We received PPR 2 weeks ago, and in our letter it doesn't mention anything about the IM5688...)

Hi,

It is mentioned under step 2

2. Validity of a Confirmation of Permanent Residence form (IMM-5688)
The issuance of your immigrant visa and/or of your Confirmation of Permanent Residence form (IMM-
5688) is time sensitive so it is important for you to act quickly upon receipt of this letter. Please note
that the validity of your IMM-5688 is limited by the validity of your medical results or the validity of your
passport (or of one of your accompanying dependent), whichever is shortest.
Once you receive your IMM-5688, please check the information on it to make sure it is correct. If there
are any errors, such as incorrect spelling of name or incorrect date of birth, please inform the
Immigration Section of the Embassy of Canada in Vienna immediately and we will confirm if reprinting is
necessary. Please note that IRCC follows strict guidelines to record names in its database and that we
may not be able to accommodate personal preferences.
You must travel to Canada and present your IMM-5688 at a Canadian Port of Entry before they expire.
Once issued, the validity of your IMM-5688 cannot be extended except in very specific circumstances,
which may require us to reopen your application and undertake new assessments. Consequently, if you
fail to enter Canada before your IMM-5688 expires and still wish to immigrate to Canada, you may have
to reapply by submitting a new application and paying new processing fees. All such applications will be
assessed according to the immigration laws in force at the time of receipt of the application. There is no
guarantee a future application will be successful."
Interesting... looks like we have different letters. Our PPR letter does not include that section.

We finally have some movement! January 30th, 2017 Application. We received a request for a medical exam today because the one we had submitted expired. There doesn’t appear anything else completed. The eligibitly for my husband isn’t done yet, nor is the background check started. The CIC agent suspects that his PR won’t be completed in time, possibly maybe in the spring he surmised. I’m glad they’re finally looking at our file, but saddened that it’s going to be several more months before PR approval.
