Yeah I guessed that but no notification if they start BGC or anything?? She read the GCkey doesn't get updated correctly with the Mississauga office

I am an American Citizen, and my husband has been an approved sponsor. We applied on March 22, 2017...they started to process our application April 22, 2017. NOT A SINGLE UPDATE since. We did get a request for medical and FBI clearance but nothing for 5 months. Our VO last I knew was Mississauga, I keep seeing people getting their PR and everything that applied in March like us......I really want to visit my family and have a normal life......anybody else get ANY updates that applied in March, 2017!!???
That's really rough :(. The waiting is hard enough as it is.
I know what you mean though, checking and checking and never seeing any change.

Just so frustrating for sure! I mean we know there are lots of people in our same situation, but a website that updates and allows to check real time information would be good, and at least being able to call every now and then for an update otherwise....haven't talked to a human in months! Actaully called CIC once (in June I believe) no information, was told by CIC that I could go to any port of entry and apply for an open work permit, I was like really!!!? Why didn't they mention that before.....I'm sure when they talk to you on the phone they at LEAST have your case open and the details...no....drove all the way to a port of entry to apply for open work permit and was told no I don't qualify because we applied outbound, that's only for inland. Sure would have been very much appreciated if they had looked to see that fact or at very least asked me before sending us on a journey of more disappointment. Still unemployed and waiting two years with one income and I don't want to live apart to go work in the states. Just completely sucks! If I didn't have issues with my medical before I will have stress issues and depression when it's all said and done....IF it ever gets there!

Several people including myself have ECAS updated but not myCIC. Apparently when they issue you coPR your myCIC gets updated.

Hi guys so im a july applicant and I seem to be stuck in the process (like everyone is of course). I have uploaded Sched A, PCC, and my medical passed and got the email saying my app will be processed in Mississauga. That was October 10. My ECAS has not changed to "in process" and my GCkey hasnt updated at all either. And with a whole month gone by I've been super anxious about it because other july applicants have had theirs changed.

Ive only recently learned you can request a note that gives you info about your app. The GCMS notes. How do you go about requesting them?

Don't worry, you aren't stuck. Perhaps other July applicants at other VOs have had their ECAS change, but for Mississauga, it doesn't change. It stays "application received" until the end. What you are seeing is 100% normal. Multiple June Mississauga applicants have had their background checks go into process over the past few days, so if you follow the same timeline, you can expect more silence for another 1-2 months until your background check goes into progress on GCKey as well.

Thank you for this information it makes me feel way better about this. It was just getting to me seeing everyone else who applied in July getting updates. This whole process has been such a test of patience ugh!

Just got an email from FedEx (which is what my wife used to send her passport copy and photos). Looks like it's coming back in the return envelope she provided, and it should be there tomorrow! Our journey is almost done!! :D I hope that everybody else here gets good news soon as well!

I'm going home for Christmas anyways, my mother has been ill and I can't wait around forever for PR....she may not be alive that long. This waiting sucks!
Sorry to hear that, I hope you have a good Christmas at home and that your Mother gets well soon.

Mississauga doesn’t update when background starts?
They did mine, but they did it two days before they sent my PPR.
So they don’t update it on time.

Should I be concerned bgc has not started??? March 28 app
No. Cause they’ve started it and have just failed to update you.
Like I’ve said above. My BGC ‘started’ and then two days later I got DM and PPR.

I don’t get why they can’t update this shit. It’s important. They need to get it together
