Did anyone else notice that he spoke about proof of citizenship and not the grant of citizenship? They are two different things.

All those from who have non-Liberal MPs should write to them repeatedly. Unlikely that your Liberal MP will raise this in question hour. I feel the time is right to petition the House of Commons for a pause on all new applications till the backlog is cleared. Nothing may come out of this petition, but it will raise eyebrows and highlight the issue. So far only two Mississauga applicants have shown interest apart from me. We need a total of 25.

Yes. As a family, we landed in Canada and went back to let my children finish their school year. The following summer, my wife and children moved to Canada permanently, while I spent another 6 months outside Canada winding up my professional commitments. During this period, I made four short trips to Canada to spend time with my family. Once I relocated permanently, I did not travel outside, except to the US to visit my extended family. My US visa was still valid at the time.

I think the primary reason is that the more frequently you enter/exit Canada the more it takes for the background process to complete... The added fact that CIC itself is slow and it all depends on the officer that handles your case. Big fact that most of the officers are lame and slow and they are least bothered about people waiting. They just need their $$ and the least amount of efforts to put...

So I managed to get a response from the Mississauga office.

"We apologize, you do not qualify for urgent processing. You are in queue for oath. The onus is on the applicant to ensure that they have a valid PR card & Passport to travel. If you choose to travel, please let us know so we do not schedule you for oath during that period."

Looks like my plans to see my family in India, after six years just got scuttled. I don't want to take any chances that I travel and they put me back of the oath queue again.

Finally after 1,200 days l 39.5 months l 3.3 years of waiting I received my passport today morning at 9:30 am here is my timeline : Mississauga

• We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on November 5, 2018
• We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on January 17, 2019
• We started processing your application on January 21, 2019
• We sent you a notice on October 23, 2019 to appear and write the citizenship test on November 18, 2019
• Decision made December 23, 2021
• Citizenship oath In progress Jan 5, 2022
• Citizenship ceremony Jan 19, 2022
• Citizenship certificate received February 8, 2022
• Passport application submitted February 14, 2022
• Passport pickup February 17, 2022

Congrats. for a moment i thought this looks familiar. then realized i have heard that at Walmart for last 2 years

Meanwhile, in another news today, I received a call from my MP’s office informing me that all was good on my application; everything is fine and should be getting oath in the next couple of months. “Each case is different, so we cannot comment on the speed at which applicants are processed and do not have any influence with IRCC. All the best.”

Update on my application schedule for Citizenship Oath on March 1st 2022 finally but the problem is I am Travelling on 15 March and it's very very important Trip can't miss
What should I do now how many days it take to receive certificate and Passport after the Oath cermoney
Or is that possible I don't cut my PR Card happy but very confuse
I give test on 15 Nov and every thing was complete on 1st December 2021 so update after almost two and half month .

How long usually does it take for Mississauga office to sent out the certificate of citizenship. I had my oath on 5th feb and oath form sent on the same day. The file was closed on the tracker on February 7th.
