Hi Guys,

I need your help. I applied for my citizenship in Dec 2017. I got my test invite on 4th Oct 2018 and I got the oath invite for 9th january 2019.

However, I need to travel to Las Vegas for vacation which was pre-booked 4 months back. I cannot cancel it, as it not refundable.

I got the oath invite on 18 Dec, 2018 and the same day I mailed them to reschedule my oath date after my vacation.

I didn't get any reply or acknowledgement, hence I called the support guys and they put a note on my file.

Can I travel to US with Indian passport on 13 Jan, after I attend my oath on 9th Jan. I won't have enough time to go for my Canadian Passport.

Please provide your valuable inputs.

I think you can get ur passport urgently by paying a little more same day or next. But to be on safe side i believe you can travel to US on indian passport post oath as you have 3 months after obtaining other citizenship to surrender indian. So u r good to go. Hope seniors can shed more light on it

You should be able to travel to US on the Visa visa which you've. I assume you've a US visa.

Hello,

As mentioned before yes you can travel to the US with your Indian passport. However, on the way back, the airport personnel will not allow you on an airplane bound for Canada unless you show them a Canadian passport as you will become a citizen after Jan 09

Hope this helps

Took the oath today. Will apply for passport in two days. My journey on this forum is complete, but happy to help any one if any one need it. For TL, check the google sheet. I used this forum extensively for last 9 years since I came as a student. I am thankful to every one who helped .

Congratulation. You are lucky. I am March applicant and still waiting for Interview/Test invite. Not sure what's going on. Very frustrating.

Any advice?

Same with me.
In September at 1 year i called and they sent Email to local office and asked me to contact them by December 14th. Nothing its now Dec 20.
I went to MP, the worker there said my security is done, my criminal check is still in process.
I lost work opportunity that requires citizenship application in November, i called the CIC and they said nothing we can do it's just busy and they're sorry.

I just recently requested level 2 background check for volunteer position and i got it done in 20 minutes.

I think cic should ask the applicants to go and get their criminal and security checks done by themselves, better than this non sense.

You are right. Its really wastage of time. It frustrate us. Anyhow, could you please help that What is the procedure to get the level 2 background check voluntarily? Thank you

Hi All,

I understand that Citizenship Tests are done in batches. I have following questions regarding Test -

1. What is the average size of a batch? How many applicants are a part of a batch on average?

2. Are the tests being done on daily basis across all the processing offices?

I would really appreciate if someone could provide an insight on this.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Can't confirm for all centers, but Scarborough's center takes around 30 to 40 and it's on daily basis.

Did you order GCMS?...
Yes, ordered in summers. Nothing as such in the file. Left it alone. I am not expecting test to be anytime soon. May be late Feb or March??
