Did you try calling IRCC or requested for GCMS note. My LPP is completed on May 17. No movement after that. My GCMS note says Citizenship granted and e grant ceremony ready. So I don't know, at this point what should I do. It's been almost 3 months to just schedule a ceremony. Anyone knows, how these things work.

I did not. We have to wait there is nothing we can do. We are in the 18 months target so as long as we are in this is the answer we'll get from calls, emails, MP etc. It's very frustrating because I would like to move on with my life and apply for jobs in US and via TN visa and I am stucked. I hope we'll get our oath soon but I'm afraid we have inherited one of the slowest office...

What makes me even more sad is that my office was Niagara falls. They moved my file to Mississauga before the test.

I still don't understand why there is not something like a national queue once applicants are done with LPP and offices attributing oath dates have to follow the ranking in their respective geographic zone. This is very unfair.

I'm in the same boat as you.

My case was transferred to the Mississauga office for the oath. LPP was completed on 15th June, and nothing after that.

I tried to contact the call center twice, and they said the same thing "WAIT".

I contacted them again today, and they said the decision has not been taken on my file; I said everything else is complete; what decision do they want to make now? and he was unable to reply.

I have a travel coming up in September and I raised a webform 2 weeks ago informing them about it. They responded to my webform acknowledging it, and also confirmed last week on call that the file has been sent to oath scheduling team.

I wouldnt really care for the application if i had no travel plans. But i just dont understand sitting on the file after LPP even if someone has made a genuine request due to travel plans.
Hey Sarvesh .. so I called and confirmed that even my file is in Mississauga Office. My question is .. can one make a request thru web form to ask scheduling team to avoid certain timeframe for scheduling. Like we spoke last, I’m done with LPP, haven’t been scheduled but I’m trying to avoid the last week of August due to travel plans. Most likely it will get avoided since nothing has moved yet but can one tell them that don’t schedule for these dates and schedule there after ..?

Hi,

Sorry for jumping in here!

If you are certain that your VO is Mississauga, you can ask same group of people who have already received their Oath ceremony invite to share the ceremony email address with you (That's how I did it), and you can send them a email about the delay of the oath scheduling. It could be better than rescheduling after receiving the email from them as it takes around 2-3months to reschedule you into the queue.

Thanks Ray. So what was your experience ? Did they accommodate you as per the travel plans or just put in the back of queue ? Here’s the dilemma I’m in.. I’ve not been invited yet and I may be hyperventilating but then you never know that they invite you all of a sudden and the dates may fall during my travel dates (8/20 - 8/29).

Hi, yes you can inform them about your travel dates via webform. also provide copy of tickets proving that you are really traveling.

I spoke to a couple of IRCC agents over call and they informed me of the same - once you have sent that webform, they have your information on file, and in case you receive an oath invite while you are traveling, you can respond to that oath email asking them to reschedule.

Once you are back in Canada, you can raise another webform and provide proof that you have returned (boarding passes) - that way they can actively work on rescheduling.

It does not work, i have tried that every week for the past 1 month, they dont respond to emails requesting expedite. Unless the reason for expedite is critical and falls under their criteria to qualift for expediting.

Finally, after almost 2 months of wait since LPP, tracker updated for oath ceremony this morning.

Scheduled for citizenship oath ceremony on August 24, 2023

No email yet. Not sure if it's in person or virtual. How and when do I find out?

Congratulations man. Finally the wait is over. I think you should drop an email to this email address (Mississauga -

IRCC.DNMISCitizenshipCeremony-CeremonieCitoyenneteMISRN.IRCC@cic.gc.ca

and ask them for the oath details since it’s almost 18 August and it’s 6 days to your oath date.
