Hello!

My spouse received an ITA on 22 Feb. His CRS was 441.

I am confused about his work experience. He is managing director of construction company in UAE. Along with that he is actively involved in an IT start-up that he funded in India. By vocation, he is a software engineer. His passport stamps show constant travel between the two countries for work.

However, while creating the EE profile, he only added his IT experience for the start-up in India (NOC 2173) based on a notion that he should highlight the NOC he seeks to work in Canada. Before I could meet a consultant to understand the addition of UAE experience which is a completely different NOC, more paperwork etc etc., he got the ITA.

The consultant I met post ITA, ate me alive for not mentioning the UAE resident status. No he is not representing us.

I confused and anxious now.

1. Should we decline his ITA. Add Qatar experience then wait in the pool again?

2. I can get a CRS score of 435. Should I create a EE profile as the principal applicant with the resident status in UAE mentioned? We are still answering the questionnaire in his ITA application and gathering documents. If I can get an ITA within our remaining 80 days, can we decline my husbands ITA?

3. Can we add Qatar in his PERSONAL and TRAVEL history as part of the post-ITA questionnaire? Could this backfire?

Can’t believe we fudged a chance like this.

Please please guide :-[

You are fine.

You got the ITA based on the software experience, as long as he can prove that, you have no issue. The only issue that might come up is if you claimed full time work for the software company at the same time as full time for the construction company. This is just not possible.

Add the other experience in his personal history section and be prepared to possibly provide a police check for the UAE depending on how much time he has spent there.

what was the residence status given in EE profile.. if Qatar wasn't given and you got ITA, it amounts to misinterpretation.. you may need to change it. I'm not sure, whether it can be changed Post ITA.

No it isnt.

If they knowingly didnt add it before submitting their PR application, then yes it could be misrepresentation.

If they adjust it post-ITA they are fine.

OK, maybe I have misread this.

You don't have to list all work experience in your EE profile. You do have to list all your activities in your personal history post-ITA.

So your work history could be:
-Job A
-Job C
-Job E

Personal history would be:
- Job A
- Job B
- Job C
- Job D
- Job E

The only difference is you only have to provide work experience documents and evidence for work in work history.

Business is slowing down in UAE. So we have spent the last 3 months in India focusing on Indian company. We did not cancel our residence visa because we are required to go back for signing documents and other things. We chose "India" as country of residence. I feel that was stupid. Does that constitute as misrepresentation?

I can edit 'country of residence' in the post-ITA questionnaire. Should I change it to UAE even if we are in India?

Does it make sense for me to create new EE profile with all info and wait for ITA in the coming draws?

I read on CIC that full-time work means 30 hours a week. My husband's position in the IT start-up is Co-founder. He duties included coding and business development. He has worked offline trying to get funds from Middle East for this start-up. He chose 40 hours/week for IT, even though some of that time was spent in middle east.

Even as I write this, I feel its complicated. And that, we should create new profiles with help from consultants and wait for ITA. Please suggest. I am sorry my question barrage continues.. Does it hurt that we once received ITA in this case?
