I am a US citizen (recent new dual citizen) with a valid job offer under NAFTA agreement. I want to apply for a work permit to canada. I quit my job in late 2017 and obtained a travel visa on another passport (not us citizen at the time). at the time of my arrival to canada in mid 2018 I was pulled aside to secondary. they asked me the purpose of my visit etc, I told them I was on holiday from work even though I was unemployed (out of anxiousness but clearly stupid). they decided to let me through.
My current issue, is that on my application for a work permit, I list the dates of my previous employment which ended in late 2017. I am worried that they will notice I was pulled to secondary on my other passport and informed them that I was on a holiday from work in mid 2018. The dates on my current application contradict what I said in secondary in 2018. and I need to submit my non-american passport as well to the embassy as I need it for proof of residence in my current country, and my previous visits to canada.
will they know what I said in secondary?
can I become inadmissible for misrepresentation in secondary?
is their any course of action for me to take?
*I cross posted this to the temporary US wokers forum, wasnt sure where to put it.
