Mismatch of birth place on my passport and birth certificate.

I have a mismatch of birthplace on my passport and birth certificate. I have all the documents with the birthplace mentioned in my passport, just the birth certificate says different. I need to submit my birth certificate for my PR application. what should I do now?

First question is why wasn't this corrected before? Anyways, you have to submit the certificate and provide an explanation as to why they are different.
