I gained 2 years of part-time experience when I was studying full-time. Does the new amendment qualify me? All my work experience were gained in Canada

I have been given the points for my work experience from 1/2014 - 06/2014 & 06/2014 - Current(06/2015) = 1year & 6months.(35points) - Same NOC but 2 different employers.

I did delete and add all the work experience, I don't see any change, but I also haven't received any email update frm CIC. Will I see any increase in points?

I also saw a post that says, a co-op work experience doesn't qualify. How will the system differentiate between Co-op work and off-campus work? I don't see any specific selection criteria to be selected. So is it something like any work done only after gaining PGWP is considered and any other part-time work is not considered (I don't think this satisfies the new amendment, Any work means anything under a work permit)

Comments on this pls.....

So for CEC does experience has to be obtained within 3 or 10 years from the day we apply?

Hi guys,

So does this mean that you can get points for self-employed Canadian work experience? I was incorporated for my two years of work in Canada, although I actually worked continuously for one large company (via a recruitment agency). I'm asking as the word "employment" has been replaced by "work".

The term “full-time employment” in subsections 15(5), 19(6) and 25(3) was replaced by “full-time work”

Thanks

Hi Dobes,

Thanks for your reply. Can you tell me how you know that is definitely the case?

As explained, I was incorporated for my two years of Canadian work experience (on an IEC visa). I worked for a huge Canadian telco, via a recruitment agency. I invoiced the recruitment agency weekly, who in turn paid into my business bank account and charged the telco for my services. I sorted out all my own business taxes (via an accountant), had a business number, etc - I was fully incorporated, although my work was actually working for a single company (the telco) for 40 hours p/w, for two years.

Thanks again!
