This is a great news - congratulations to those whose scores went up.
I am wondering if someone could help me with a few things.
I worked part time for a job from June 2013 to January 03, 2014. My hours on this job weren't consistent, some weeks 15 hours and some weeks 2-25. The total number of hours I worked on this job was 588. Job responsibilities of this position relates to NOC B.
I started another job on January 06, 2014 where I am currently employed, working full time, 40 hours a week. This position relates to NOC A.
My questions are:
1) Will I get points for two different job experiences/NOCs? If so,
2) How do I convert the part time hours to equivalent full time hours? and,
3) With my part time and full time hours, when I will complete two years of experience?
Thanks for your help.
Hi,Pippin said:I am not an expert. Divide 588 by 30 = 19 full time weeks
For other job, even though 40 hrs, just counts as one full week. So you need 52
Weeks to equal one year. 104 - 19 = 85 more weeks to reach two years. I don't know why you are looking for two years as you need one full year in a NOC OAB skilled job. Read the exact wording to see if you can combine the two jobs to make the year. I don't know if you worked in Canada or abroad.
My points got increased from 429 to 439.chechi_298 said:I left Canada last night because my visa expired at the end of May, and then saw this post this morning. I love this forum!! If it weren't for it, I wouldn't have known about the potential 40 additional points. Made a minor change and it worked for me. My points went from 424 to 464. Finishing my masters in 6 weeks so that should take it to 470. Please let that be enough for an ITA soon so I can return to my home away from home!
Update any field then save aND submit .ray1031 said:Hey,
When did you get the update? I have work experience of 7 month (web developer) +22 months (programmer) with a 4-months gap in between , but nothing changed in my profile.
I've got the 40 points for 1 year continuous Canadian work experience, but now according to the new amendment I should have 53 as I have more than 2 year's in total.
Should I waiting for CIC guy to read my profile or do something to the profile by myself?
Someone help me please. Thanks a lot!
No... just I checked after this ministrial instructions.ray1031 said:Thank you Oka!
So did you get that email from cic saying your profile has been update?
juls78 said:Just noticed that there is an update in the ministerial instructions
"As of May 30, 2015, all valid Canadian work experience will be recognized under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) of Express Entry as CIC is removing the requirement that Canadian work experience be continuous. As a result, foreign nationals with Canadian work experience could see an increase in their CRS point
Which section points got increased?? And see if it's relevant to you...nash24 said:Can confirm, my points increased from 391 to 444 after I made a small irrelevant change to my profile and saved it and logged out and logged back in!
I got 40 extra points for having 1 year Canadian experience + 13 extra points for having 1 year Canadian experience and post secondary degree. I did not get these points before because I had worked at my first job for 11 months and then a break of 5 months and then my current job for 5 months and counting (both same NOC). Now it does not matter if the experience is continuous or not, so I got the extra 53 points.Oka said:Which section points got increased?? And see if it's relevant to you...
