BG check in progress, they are so efficient, reply of webform received within 2 days

All applications for temporary/permanent residence in Canada are subject to statutory requirements, including background checks. These requirements must be satisfied before an applicant may be granted temporary/permanent resident status. We are currently conducting certain background investigations.

Hi ,

I applied for my Parents visitor visa for my Graduation in Jan 2023 after my grandmother got her visa in 6 days but my mother's and Father's file was stuck till june. In june my father got ppr and we submitted passport. Guess what , passport was returned to us and they asked for Additional documents as my father is still serving in police . ADR uploded in June immediately after that went to review around same time. I tried to contact MP in December 2023. He said same thing as most of you got. I mailed him back again after one month and after that my Mother got PPR and got her Visa stamp. But i am still waiting for my Father's PPR till now. I have contacted MP few days back again and he said the exact same thing again.

Tough luck ! When is your Graduation ceremony? Does it not count towards emergency since its time bound?

Same story today when I called after 4-5 months-tried everyway- call/webform/notes/ MPP--- NO NEW UPDATE/INFO. They say once the general processing time has passed- they cannot guarantee you when you will receive visa!!! This has become ridiculous now. Why they have not made any changes to fasten the process for Govt employees. Canadian immigration has left them to suffer where everyone else is receiving visa in a month or so. It feels like it is a crime for a person to work in Police or Military and serve their country.

Yeah hoping for 2 year target now. I used to think it would be 18 months but it passed the mark again!

no guarantee of 2 year time as well, i know multiple people whose wait time has crossed 24 months. this is just a delayed tactic by IRCC and nothing else.

Hello all, I am in the process of applying Super Visa for my parents from India. My dad is a retired Subedar from DSC. I am seeing a long delay for everyone here.

Is it better to go with visitors visa instead of Super Visa and will it come sooner as the duration of stay will only be few months ? Please advise
