Everyone has the same confusion. No one actually knows how they count and what's the sequence.
The only thing we know is, we submitted some application to somewhere, quite a while back, and that's it.

I had sent a CSI to SVO on October 23, regarding changes of my passport old passport to MRP due to expiary.
They sent me standard reply. Added a line highlighted with italic and red color

" If your message concerns one of the issues below, this is the only reply you will receive. Otherwise, we will reply to your specific questions within a service standard of one month. "

You have done the right thing sending info to the VO about the changes in your passports.
They will acknowledge you in due time insallah. Dont worry every things going to be just fine as Allah wishes.
