I sent using web form. I find I only get a response with this instead of email direct. And yes you are able to have it returned to DHL or UPS and have your spouse pick it up there. I sent to my home address in Canada. It was only $55 CAD

I said it was the last time I will write to them and I did write to them again. I hope there won’t be any consequences on our file because I know they don’t like to receive many emails.

Cmon those are humans they understand your concern as long as you don't pass your days at writing to them.. won't be any consequences.

I have written them so many times I can't keep track...if anything it sped up my application because they were tired of getting my messages lol

Mexico is still in a high level of health alert because of the coronavirus pandemic. Accordingly, the Immigration section of the Canadian Embassy in Mexico City is currently working with essential staff only and providing essential urgent services through teleworking. This limits our ability to request/receive passports and to print visas. Our immigration sections across Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean are equally affected. Unfortunately, there is not much assistance I can give you on specific timelines – there is currently no estimated date on when services will resume.


Travel restrictions ? is there ? her country is Opened... Canada is with direct family members... what's wrong...


VFSGlobal told me they can receive passport requests.

Malheureusement, le Centre de réception de demandes de visas (CRDV) a Mexico ne pourrait pas accepter passeports envoyés hors du Mexique parce que le paiement du service est effectué par transfert bancaire mexicaine » They basically can’t receive passports sent from outside of Mexico because the payment is made through bank transfert in Mexico. I am not sure I understand. I will just leave it like this. Well, I will just wait.

I got this answer a month ago as well, but I tried again on the webform yesterday telling them I would pay for shipping to and from their office in Mexico if they would send the PPR, just as Mitch, MrIncredible and others have who succeeded. The only difference is they are dealing with different countries than Central America as we are.

So nothing yet, but I'm hopefully waiting.

Asked VFSGlobal and they say if i have the PPR letter, they can process it from El Salvador to Mexico center.

she would be eligible to travel here after it right ?

Yes she can travel and don't bother to contact vfs global. We used the web form to contact and the passports were sent to the Canadian embassy in Mexico City.

Why could not send passport to the Canadian embassy in applicant country ? It would be much easier, if they operatting and there is one ofcourse.
In our case is Cuba. I am not sure yet how it will happen.

My wife will repass the Medical Exam they need to finish the file on Saturday !

Damn period at the wrong timing haha

For those who didnt know , for medical the PA (if it's a women) need to have finished her "period" since 5 days , nor before as some lab won't be accepted like pee exam and such.

Not sure what crazy doctor or lab your family went to but you don't need to wait 5 days after your period ends to do a urine test. The test can be done at any time as long as you only collect your urine sample with no contamination. If a woman is not wearing a tampon or menstrual cup it can make it hard to collect a urine sample that is not contaminated because one of the things that they are testing for is blood in the urine. There is certainly no reason to wait 5 days after the end of your period.

Of course, the urine will get contaminated. The secretary told me when i called to book appointment for us. I guess yours did not remind you.

Women on their period can do their urine sample on their period if wearing a tampon or mentrual cup and prepping well. Their is a slightly higher contamination rate so waiting after a period ends may be suggested but 5 days after is not required. It can be done the next day.

Its one of those things that you go to do a test for inmigration purposes and in some cases pay lots of money, so you wanna be solid sure that there is no blood in there, 5 days may seem too much but hey better than wait and re do it again and wait even more!

I was reading and wondering if new permanent residents need to report to public health authorities? It says something about doing a medical follow up after arriving to Canada? I just read it online so not sure if this applies to us?

My husband didnt have to though he landed a few years ago... could be a provincial thing. She will have to quarentine for 14 days though.
