We just got a biometrics letter. (Apparently our file was marked with our biometrics fee unpaid even though we paid the fee and sent proof over a year ago when they first asked for it and then resent the reciept in December when they wanted us to pay again). Our MP sent us a letter on Friday telling us that our file still shows our biometrics fee unpaid, so we sent a 3rd copy of the reciept, both to our MP and to Mexico. We got a personal reply back that our payment has now been applied to the file and they sent the biometrics letter.

My question is this... is the file now on total hold until the biometrics are done, or is there other work they can do on the file to expedite it along in the meantime? In other words, have they progressed us to a dead end? The principal applicant's Venezuelan passport expires in November and they cannot leave Venezuela on an expired passport.

Is it possible for them to make a decision prior to the biometrics? Or is biometrics the only next step?

I am the sponsor, how do i fill up this form to request the notes? It says , are you requesting on your own behalf. I guess yes, and then select sponsorship application and put my own UCI number and application number which is same as file number?

Yes and I believe you need to do a representative form if you are the sponsor. I had to anyway as the sponsor

I think this is the correct way. This is what I did to receive the last 4 times. But even though I was the sponsor they required a signed representative sheet from my wife even though we included one with the initial application. It gives you a chance to attach documents just do it then. It is good for 6 months I think....so I just continued to use the same each time

Hi, it stays like that untill decision made, then changes to decision made. Mexico received your file after 8 months?

Mexico received my file in December 2019. They started processing it in July 2020. I submitted my application in November 2019.

Thanks for your reply, we are 13 month into the process today. I have another question, at the time we submitted our application we included form IMM 5475 (Authority to release personal information to a designated individual), I am the sponsor and the designated individual, the application for the notes requires a consent form IMM 5476 to be submitted, so my question is do I have to submit that new form 5476?

My wife will repass the Medical Exam they need to finish the file on Saturday !

Damn period at the wrong timing haha

For those who didnt know , for medical the PA (if it's a women) need to have finished her "period" since 5 days , nor before as some lab won't be accepted like pee exam and such.

Yes. I did the same and still had to submit. Look a few posts up. I explained in detail everything you need to do.

The form you need is imm 5744.

The good news is that they process the medical fast. We did ours August 11 and by August 12 it was updated that medical was passed on gckey and by August 14 decision made

Just the fact not to need interview and eligibility completed is a plus !

that would be such a good gift to be all done with this process.

To request the information I think you just need the permission of accompanying parent? If you have dependents that aren't biologically yours then I'm assuming you already included in your application a custody agreement which gives custody to your wife. I would just fill out the form. If the dependents are under 18 then have your wife sign. So at the top you are representative. Applicant is your wife and she signs. Then use the other available spaces for dependents and have your wife sign for the dependents. Use a bright blue ink. I found that a scanned copy works if the ink is very obviously blue lol. Your wife will have to print and sign and scan and send to you. I know the scanners in Ecuador leave it very faded and we had to use a very bright blue.


If you want to be safe and include the biological father I would put him in related individual section as it asks the relation to the applicant. I would only submit the one form and not do a second one for the biological father. Definitely don't put the biological father as the applicant.
