Well they haven't told us we need an interview yet, they just added the CSQ to our file! Thank you for all your help!
Okay that’s good
Cause on another hand I know Mexico grants pppr fast rather than sending persons for interview

You have just given me so much hope! I have been worrying sick since yesterday thinking that we would for sure get an interview! I hope you hear from them soon and can be reunited with your loved one promptly!

Sorry I am confused. My question was from the date they told you would you have to do an interview, did they say how long it would take for you to actually get the interview? Like between the time you were requested for an interview and the time you actually had the interview, how long was that?
We were notified at the one year mark that we needed an interview. Waited 4 months for a date that was another 1.5 months in the future (in Trinidad). Interview was set for March 23rd. WE had tickets and had paid almost $500 for translation services in advance, and it was cancelled 5 days before due to COVID. I have about $1500 wrapped up in plane tickets and translation services - just sitting in stasis. Beyond depressing.

They would only request for the PA to come where closest to them.
So if you’re from the Caribbean then Trinidad VO it will be.
because they would also look at where the PA is coming from.
it may not be trinidad... most countries have a place where applicants go to conduct the interviews. dominicans go to santo domingo in the dominican, etc

2 years?? I saw someone's timeline who said they got an interview within 1 month of the request, how is that possible? And how can they make us wait 2 years when we have already waited 18 months! That's ridiculous!
They decided I need an interview November 2019. 8 months since they determine I need one and still haven't even been scheduled. So I'm guessing there is a backlog of interviews. But there is a list of people they are reassessing to determine if the interview can be waived.

That is how I got the additional help was by contacting the Ottawa office and now my MP is dealing direct with the immigration minister and the immigration ministers secretary. Now I have received news that we are in queue to be reviewed to skip the interview all together. They are much more helpful and can get more done especially when they hear how long you've been waiting!
Did you email the immigration Minister directly at the email listed online or was there another way to contact the office?

There's another way that my MP is doing on our behalf. So basically my MP finally was able to talk to the secretary to the immigration minister who directed them to speak to the visa office directly.

My MP said they had no idea the immigration system is so flawed and they are furious that the immigration minister didn't send any written response to an elected official. She spoke to the secretary for a long time and asked why they aren't doing video interviews, what their plans are to catch up on files, etc. She said the answers were horrible. My MP assured me that she will be going to the visa office on my behalf to push for my interview to be waived or done over the phone and now the NDP immigration critic is getting involved with the spousal sponsorship process and they are going to demand answers why these families are all getting screwed and waiting 2 years. I think her name is Jenny Kwan.

You really think this is going to change anything ? Mexico has been a slow office for YEARS, it's not something that just happened because of COVID, they always take their sweet time processing everything because they claim to be overwhelmed.
Trust me, I know it's frustrating and I'm sorry you have to wait so long to be reunited with your family, but going to every instance of government won't change a thing, knowing that there are other priorities right now with this crisis and family sponsorship is not one of them for sure
Oh, our application has been in Mexico since August 2019 and it is still on "Application Received" so in 1 year, they haven't even opened the package, but I am not bothering with the MP because last time I did, I just got a call from her assistant and he basically told me to apply for Super Visa

That sucks you had such a disappointing experience with your MP. My MP was able to get Mexico to review my file further and reassess whether an interview is still required. I got an email from Mexico Visa Office saying my file is in queue to be reviewed to waive the interview.

That’s wonderful about your MP.
Let’s continue to STAY positive and SPEAK positive things.
Not all MPs are the same, some actually has a heart.

Our medical expire February so we have to submit new ones.
We didn’t get the extension because of COVID-19
But we do not mind.
