You can’t really mange his expectation lol , just keep him in the loop and try and stay positive :) I hope you don’t have to wait like we do

More good news today ... we received biometrics instruction letter, pre-arrival services letter and another letter that is maybe ... PPR??? Here's a quoted excerpt and then more info from the letter.

"This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order for us to continue the processing of your application we require the following:

Copy of Valid Passport - please submit a copy of the valid passport's bio data page for you
."

Paraphrasing now ... It goes on to say that if the document is not in English or French, you need to send a certified translation with a copy of the originals. The documents must be received within 15 days of the date of this letter and our correspondence has to be sent to the Immigration Section of the Canadian Embassy in Mexico at the address indicated on the bottom of the page.

So, I'm a little confused as to whether they want the actual passport or just a (translated) copy of the bio page. And, is this our Passport Request?

I would think they just want a copy of the bio page . Where is PA from ?
I can’t answer your other questions but congratulations

Thank you for your response and your good wishes.

He's from Costa Rica which is NOT a visa exempt country when traveling to Canada, so that's why I didn't understand what this request was.

I don't understand why they want a copy sent in snail mail to their Mexico office, why not just by webform? Plus, it's the same document they already have in our application file. It was renewed but I sent that by webform several months ago.

The inconsistency is real hahaha, they asked us for PCC from El Salvador through snail mail after we had already submitted it a few months prior, it's so annoying.

Sounds like an additional document request more than a PPR. it says COPY OF means they want to verify some stuffs(or simply has lost this document.. it's still Mexico) before the real passport is sent i guess

Hi don't think this is PPR , it's just an additional document that they need to as they stated " continue the processing of your application " . As your husband is not from a visa exempt country , they would have mandatorily asked for his physical passport to be sent and not a copy along with other specifics eg, pictures , prepaid courier fare etc. Just do as stated in the email eg send colored scan of passport bio page in PDF format with or without accompanying translation ( whichever applicable ) hope this clarification helps. Hang in there.

Thanks. I'd like to send it on PDF but seems they want it by snail mail within 15 days to the Canadian Embassy in Mexico. So that's what we'll do!
