August - They requested updated sched A and Medical and nothing since.

Keep your head up!

It's hard when we know that we have so many months of waiting ahead of us.. And there are people from my September thread that are already getting PPR (Ottawa VO)! It's hard not to get jealous :p

I know.. Some people get it so fast!! We are heading to the Dominican to see him in a few weeks so at least we have that to look forward to :) Hopefully we will get some good news over the holidays!
:D ;D

Hey. Did they ask you to pay the RPRF?

Am I the only one who sent it to Ottawa for it to be processed in Mexico? My parents are from Venezuela.

We paid all fees upfront. They also requested photos but told us we could send them with the next request which will hopefully be the PPR :)

That would be the best choice right now, thinking of doing the same too. Id wish they come quicker though lol My wife's (PA) side in ECAS says they started processing the application on November 14th, how long would I have to wait to hear anything from them? My case was pretty straight forward and we've lived together in DR plus a visa refusal for her to visit me due to lack things attaching her back to the country*silly*

Anyways, good luck on your trip!

I Didn't hear anything for a few months... my AOR1 was sent out in a batch email long after the ECAS changed to in process. But we sent it all in March and I believe it was in June they started processing in Mexico. Your wife is the PA? And you are in the DR? We also applied for a visitor visa and denied - but that was before we sent in the PR App. I was going to apply again but the chances are slim to none so just going to wait it out... impatiently :)

So my wife applied for ETA today, and it looks like ETA application went to review status. Lets see what VO does with it. She was planning to meet me for our first anniversary....

Hello,

I have a question. I filed for my spousal sponsorship in Oct 2016 in Canada. I was approved as a sponsor and my application was sent to Mexico for processing.
My circumstances changed and I may need to declare bankruptcy on Dec. Does any one know what are the chances of my application to be refused since I was approved intially because everything was perfect at the time of filling?

My bankruptcy will be over in just about 9 months. Once approved as a sponsor does the visa office in Mexico do any checks on the sponsor ?

Any help will be grately appreciated!

Hi Nara - Did she not answer Yes, when she was asked if she had ever applied for visa, study permit, etc.. ? Did she not include her UCI ? Did she not say she was going to visit her husband?. On one of my previous posts, I made sure to let everyone know in this forum about answering those 3 questions as they were very important when applying for ETA....... I wonder how long is gonna take for her to get an answer.....

Yes. She did include her UCI and she explicitly wrote on comments she is coming to visit me for our anniversary.

3 days for VO to respond.

CIC requested police certificates from Mexico and Canada, and we are both in Canada. There was no CIC letter addressed to PGR.

So there are two ways to get the Mexico police certificate - one through the embassy and the other directly from PGR.
Is it better to send the fingerprints to the Mexico embassy and wait 2-3 months for them to get the certificate and forward to CIC or is it better to try to request a CIC letter for PGR, get a carta de poder and get the certificates by someone in Mexico?

Thanks!

Air transit rules are getting worse year after year. For my wedding I had big time issues in bringing my parents (from India ) to Mexico. adding, if visa gets rejected from one embassy, it's a pain. I had 2 options -

India - USA - Mexico - this didn't work out coz us rejected tourist visa. I ended up booking the below option, because for any halts I needed to apply tourist visa /ETA for my parents, and takes 30-45 days per embassy ( which is far away from home )

India - Damian/Bahrain - São Paulo( Brazil ) - Mexico --> total travel time 40+ hours for parents ( who are in 60s and 70s. None of these countries need air transit visa if staying less than predefined amount of time for Indian nationals.

It was painful, until Amsterdam embassy emailed me I can do layover for less than 24 hours without visa. Ultimately the route I choose was India - Amsterdam - Mexico lol.

I understand the frustration of original poster, traveling is becoming more hassle year by year. Travel agencies may not be able to help always, especially if it's not popular routes.:)

Oh woooowwww!!!

Thank you so much for sharing that with me. I had no idea it has gotten this difficult to travel.
This is such a good lesson for me.

Many thanks!
