Hi all,
In the guide it says "Birth and marriage certificates must be Government-certified true copies (copies certified as authentic by
the issuing governmental authority, signed and sealed)."

Does that mean that a photocopy of the original birth certificate notarized in Canada by public notary is not sufficient? Does it have to be somehow certified by Mexican government?

Thanks

I translated my Mexican wife's Birth Certificate here in Canada , the translation company included a true copie certificate , I had no problem with CIC accepting it .

Tanmex and members, a question, it's ok to pay Dhl just to send the airway bill
And when they bring my passport pay then for the sending back? They sayd that I can
Just pay when the envolope gets back from Mexico, can you explain me little bit,
Thanks

I think it is okay to do it that way, but I also think Mexico will ask for the return bill, and then you have to get something fron DHL to show Mexico so they can arrange to send it back.

I know DHL has been a pain in the butt for people who have used it!

Ask DHL to give you a return Label for the embassy to use , then they can charge you when that label is used .

Dhl would only send a return waybill once the embassy requested it. I was able to pay when we picked up the passport

Hello everybody. I have a little question related with the proof of the relationship.

In the Envelope 2 (applicant forms) should I included something of the proof of the relationship??? or everything in the Envelope 3 (proof of relationship)

I am confused because in the IMM5490 said that you have to enclosed flight tickets, life insurance... so I dont know if that kind of proofs belongs to IMM5490 or not???? Or should I repeat the documents???

Thank you very much in advance.

Here's how we organized our envelopes;

ENVELOPE 1 of 3:

SPONSOR FORMS
and SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

ENVELOPE 2 of 3:

SPONSORED SPOUSE FORMS
and SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

ENVELOPE 3 of 3:

PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP

I should add that all the proof of evidence documents were tagged and organized. Comments on the application where documented evidence was required referred the reader to the Proof of Relationship Envelope. Some include a Contents List inside the Proof of relationship envelope. We DID NOT duplicate documentation.

Hope that helps!

Hello everyone !

I applied to sponsor my wife in December 2015, got my SA in February.

I am a bit discourage this morning, my ECAS show this:

PR View:

1.We received your application for permanent residence on December 23, 2015.
2.We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on May 4, 2016.
3.We started processing your application on April 29, 2016. (Is this AOR 2 ?)
4.Medical results have been received

I was under the impression that with a straight forward application (Lived 3 years in Guatemala with my wife, no kids, same age, my family came multiple times to Guatemala, attended my wedding etc...) the process could take 8 to 12 months. My lawyer says to forget what I see here on the forum or on the google sheet, and that my wife wont be here until the full 17 months. She even says the 17 months from CIC website was not including the first 60 days for me to be approved as a sponsor...

What do you guys think ? The lawyer might want to avoid me to have high expectations ?

Thanks

I'd put more faith in the spreadsheet than what the lawyer says but that's just me. Probably managing expectations. Assuming a straightforward application I'd guess 12 months. Things seem to have slowed a bit in the CIC lately.

Every application is different and yes it depends on who is processing your application and the quality of the documentation you sent. Just be careful not to look at the shortest timeline on the spreadsheet and expect your application to be done by then. It'll cause you a ton of stress!

The 16 months number means that 80% of all applications are processed by 16 months. Many well before then.

Speedy Processing!

Thats exactly what they told me, that i have to pay for the return when the passport is back at the DHL Ofice,
so the embassy is going to request the return waybill to DHL? or directly to us? Thanks

We are still kind of confuse, today we asked Dhl for the waybill for the return of the passport
That was taken at the interview, and it seems so dificault for then to give that to us, I just
Don't understand, Couze the papers thAt the embassy requested at the letter like the to picas
And the letter back, and the both address are going to get there not problem, but how are
They going to send back the passport if we do not provide then with the waybill back??
I just don't understand,
