I'm from Canada, and he is Dominican. This is the first i have heard about the interview. I hope it's not another 6 months before we receive the date. That would push us right to the edge of the estimated 17 months. It's just frustrating because this is not news. We could potentially be waiting another six months before getting any more information.

So, to clarify.. they advised you that you were in queue for an interview six months before given the date?

I recently requested the notes, and i am expecting them this week.
i really believe the only reason we received this notice is because we contacted our local MP's office.

Suggest to get your ECAS notes which would clearly state the reason they are interviewing..Everything will be fine. Also, just curious, what documents did you give to consulate to show your relationship? I guess photos, emails...and what else?

Hello nartcr we have a common law case and we send email, photos, facebook conversations, cell phone records, mail send to both of us to the same address, letters from friends and family, bank account with both names, lease agreement, insurance documents showing my partner as beneficiary.

photos, passport, hotel bookings. That's about it... all we had. it probably wasn't sufficient. I can only assume now.
Still waiting on the notes.

Do you have probably mail records of gifts or shipped items showing address - -may be flowers, cards etc, some proof showing you travelled together, amazon shipping records? It would be good idea to carry as much documentation you could arrange, if possible.

I am on documentation phase, will be submitting my app soon. I am still on discussion with my wife on what proofs could i possibly submit.

On ECAS notes, probably you could request one today. Its easy. Last time i did it ( in 2015 ) it was 3-4 weeks time to get the doc in hand.

I just got a Spousal Sponsorship approved for my husband in Nicaragua on April 5th and his visa will expire May 9th. I'm sending his passport today to the Canadian Embassy in Mexico and am wondering if he needs a transit visa to go through the US as there are no direct flights to Canada and there is a layover in Miami.

I Just sent the police certificate to the VO in Mexico City and paid the PErmanet resident fee. So fingers crossed to get some news from them soon.
:) :) :) :)

I can finalllly say it... we got PPR!!

only problem is... we just sent my husbands passport yesterday for his visitor visa to be issued LOL.. this never ends!!!

FINALLY!!!!

It is probably faster for the visitor visa. We are still waiting for the passport to be returned, and its been three weeks already! In an email, immigration told my impatient husband that it takes 2-3 weeks to be returned.. obviously they hadn't checked their own timeline! My friend got hers returned in exactly 1 week, and hers was sent after mine!

If he is not visa exempt, he will need a transit visa... but you can look online to see the requirements

A friend of mine just got hers back, just under 2 weeks.

He will get his passport back with visitor visa next week.. so the plan is he will come as soon as he gets his passport back.. and enter as a visitor, then we will send his passport back for PR. what a rollar coaster this has been!

I hesitated to apply for the vv.. but we are tired of being apart!
