Jbodden did you both get the golden email ??

Hey
So i got an e-mail.

It has news, but not exactly what I wanted to hear...
it stated that we are in queue for an interview.
This is discouraging. After 11 months of waiting, I was hoping for at least a set date for the interview.
Has anyone else experienced this?

i'm just curious how long I will have to wait before getting an actual interview date.
I need to know if I should plan a visit, or not. I'm tired of waiting, and i can't even imagine having to wait the full 17 months.

what country are you or your spouse from?
we knew my husband was getting an interview, 6 months before it happened. my husband received notice for an interview, 13 months after sending the application, and the interview was the following month.. he was approved at the interview and still waiting for PPR.. 16 months and counting!

I'm from Canada, and he is Dominican. This is the first i have heard about the interview. I hope it's not another 6 months before we receive the date. That would push us right to the edge of the estimated 17 months. It's just frustrating because this is not news. We could potentially be waiting another six months before getting any more information.

So, to clarify.. they advised you that you were in queue for an interview six months before given the date?

I recently requested the notes, and i am expecting them this week.
i really believe the only reason we received this notice is because we contacted our local MP's office.

I believe they are having another round of interviews early May. So I guess if you haven't received an email yet, then you aren't part of that batch.
We found out the end of August 2015 that we were getting an interview, and waiting for a date, they had interviews in September but my husband did not get that batch. He had to wait until February. We are almost at the 17 month mark.. I don't know what happens after that!
Hopefully, they start doing interviews more frequently.. since Mexico took over Dominican applications, they have had interviews in September 2015, February 2016 and now May 2016.. hard to say how often they will hold interviews, I hope you don't have to wait long.
Try applying for a visitor visa! A bunch of us from the February interviews were approved in November for visitor visas.. Having an interview is good reason for your husband to return to DR.. it worked for us.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. I guess u and I are in similar boats.
I guess I need to start planning another vacation, since we have no idea what's going on right now. Waiting 6 months for an interview would put us over the 17 month mark, which is ridiculous. Especially since they haven't requested any supporting documents, and our application was sent with no errors.
There woul be no reason to drag on the process this long.

I am scared to apply for another visitor's visa, as we have been declined that request in the past. Time and money wasted. Especially since my husband has to take time off just to go to Santo Domingo. He got declined last time, as he didn't have "sufficient" savings, even though I had notarized a letter stating I would take care of his expenses.

I also received the same email a couple of weeks ago "In queue for review" since we have been ask for additional doccuments in November 2015 we havent heard nothing, so we are over 12 months now, this is so frustating :(
