which courier did you use?? I don't think anybody realizes all of the additional costs after paying the original fee!
He used UPS in Santo Domingo. He went on a Thursday and it was delivered Friday afternoon.
It is an expensive process for sure! Especially since he had to redo stuff!
Hoping for some news this week, I hopeyou hear something soon too!

Where are you in Canada?

I see you guys talk and i'm just 4 months in and it's so hard and even though every month that passes is a month closer it does't change the fact that the time apart is long and hard...my husband is in santo domingo and its nice to know that UPS would be a good option to send the passport since i had a bad experience with DHL for the papers...i just hope i get a speedy process good luck to all!

I am in Calgary. I think re-doing things is what gets expensive, and small things like travel costs for that. Don't get me wrong, I love going there, and once hes here and I don't go every three months, I will miss it for sure! I was holding off going, because I was hoping it would end soon, but then I decided to go anyways!

You should for sure get an acknowledgment this week! and then hopefully PPR, especially since they already approved you!

It sure sounds like the processing for Santo Domingo is quite slow, since they only seem to conduct interviews every 6 months! But some people have gotten their PPR already, who applied after me. I thought my case was quite simple (but don't we all), who knows exactly what they are looking for, or what the officer processing your file is doing!

HI Chrillan and everyone!

Well, got some bad news, my partner went to the interview and I went as well, but they didn't let me in.

We applied under the conjugal partner category but got rejected only because we haven't got married, the officer didn't had doubts that our relationship is genuine but questioned why we haven't got married.

So now we are getting married soon, but don't know if we should appeal and send the marriage certificate or if we have to submit a new application.

It's hard since all you know this process can be stressful.

I wish you all the best of luck!

I'll keep you posted any decision we take.

And if anyone can help us with any advice, it will be truly appreciated.
Hi, I'm sorry to hear that they rejected you guys. Congratulations on getting married soon.. We wish you guys the best..

If your husband doesn't need an interview, it will be much quicker than my husband! I still don't know why they interviewed him, the notes didn't indicate anything and the officer conducting his interview didn't have concerns either.

He has used UPS to send me documents in Toronto and now to send documents to Mexico and good experiences both times.

Where in Santo Domingo is your husband?

I sent my documents in May, and I'm still waiting on some type of news.

Medicals expire this week, and I haven't heard anything.

10 months in the process. They haven't asked for any documents, no request for an interview. I feel so lost. I requested my notes recently, waiting on that (but not hopeful there will be an answer there either).

I'm tired of waiting... I need some answers!

Sorry about your long wait ,
is this an inland application ? Inland applications get contacts in about 17 months , If you are an outland applicants you should have been contacted twice at least .

I was at 10 months when they first contacted me! Don't worry too much, I'm sure your note will have some info.

Hello Everyone,

I was reading on CIC's website and i ran into the PR application and my question is, Do we have to fill that out and send it at the same time i send my remaining documents to CIC or is that after someone lands in Canada ?? The reason I ask is because within the app it asks for address in Canada and also Confirmation of PR... Has anyone been through this process already?

I'm very sorry to hear that your wait is not over. It's strange how they can have the option to apply as conjugal partners, yet they question why you are not married and for that reason reject the application. If I was you, I would contact an immigration lawyer for advise re: appealing. At least to know your choices.

Good Luck and thank you for letting us know how it went.

I hope we don't get a interview even though our relationship is genuine i just feel annoyed if they would actually not believe in our relationship...i did send them over 300 pictures of us i hope that counts for something.....and my husband is from Los Alcarrizos
