Omg just saw that! I wonder if it's an estimate in general, since now it's not letting you choose which visa office.

Happy New Year dear people!

Wish you all the best in 2016, hope all those PPR arrive really soon!

Cheers! ;D

I don't understand. What I'm saying is that my husband's passport was sent to the embassy 12/24 and was sent back to Caracas on 12/29. All days except 12/29 were holidays, that doesn't make any sense, that would mean the embassy processed it in less that 24 hrs. I hope they stamped the visa and just didn't return it for whatever reason.

VFS and the embassy are two different things.... so the timeframes mean different things.

It usually takes 2 business days to stamp the passport under normal circumstances. Yes, some take longer and some do take shorter.

Guessing what happened is beyond any of us, you will have to wait and see.

Hi. Congrats on your success. Happy New Year! I'm currently in the process in Venezuela myself. My permanent residence application status is still "in process" since July 6,2015How long did it take for your entire process to be done through the Mexico City office?

Thanks! :) I really never felt we would get to this point it looks like forever while waiting :P

When did you send your application? When did you get your sponsor approval? At the bottom of this response you can go to the link indicated there Mexico VO and see all of our TLs.

Right now it is taking 8-10 months from the moment we filed our apps... At that time, first stage was talking about 2 months.

We sent it March 11, 2015
They approved him as a sponsor July 6th
They sent it to Mexico July 8th
I'm hoping it doesn't ale too long. We send out application since 2013 and they kept "losing" it.

Yes, VFS is a middle man, that is, they receive your passport and send it to the Immigration office. More than 24 hours would be nonsense.

You only need your passport (with immigration visa if any) and CoPR.

Are you sure that is the address? If so then use CPCM-EXTCOM@cic.gc.ca not cpcm-extcom@cic.gc.ca

This usually doesn't work. The way CIC marks correspondence is binary, which is "all requested documents ready y/n" sending partially some would mark them as "requested documents incomplete" and the partial submission will be ignored. That is why CIC marks that all documents should be sent at once in a single package, they don't like partial submissions nor documents just sitting there waiting to be completed.

Our logic marks that "they have something to work with" but they have too many applications and they don't have time to "see what is missing" or "what we can work on".

Yeah I called CIC and they said the same thing, I guess we just have to play the waiting game....

There are no dumb questions!

Just "quote" my message with the questionnaire in it and in the quoted message go up and put the dates/info beside each question? Or copy and paste it into a new message?

Give that a try...

I wouldn't get too hung up on the 18 month timeline. Routine applications have been taking between 8 to 10 months including sponsorship approval. The 18 month processing time represents how long it takes to complete 80% of the applications received. 50% are completed in 12 months. Complicated/incomplete applications can take longer than 18 months. Mexico was 17 months most of 2015.

Hola Gente !

gracias
