lol..

CANzanillo I have a question. I noticed on the spreadsheet that after PR side changes to IP applicants receive AOR2 1-2 months after. Is that how it works? The reason why i asked is cause our PR side changed to IP on November 5 and we were wondering if we are close to getting AOR2 soon. :D

That seems to generally be the case NOW. But only since September or so. Previous to that the eCAS system had been notoriously unreliable to judge anything by.

Expect 2 to 3 months from SA to AOR2. It remains to be seen if eCAS will be more reliable going forward.

If I may guide you to this link for a little light reading ;) ;D 8)

TorontoLove, Valeescu, csanti, Jbodden, Chrillan, Maguita, Tinyaries, JuanP_MexiCan, Pau, nreilly! Thank you for your kind words and congratulations! I enjoy helping out here. It's my small gesture of appreciation for all the help and learning I've received in these forums. This is a arduous and stressful process. Being informed, I think, helps to relieve some of that stress.

We are extremely happy and at least I am quite relieved. My wife is now beginning to stress cause THIS JUST GOT REAL! For me, having to travel to Mexico City to redo the medicals and then potentially having to go for an interview, along with the associated processing delays and travel costs really had placed a great weight on my shoulders. I anticipated an interview due to our large age difference, so not having one is a huge relief for me! My wife is excited and sad at the same time. Sad to be leaving her family mostly and her beloved Mexico. We have a lot to do in the next couple weeks. Turn off the tap of life here and prepare to travel. Yesterday we couriered off my wife's passport, address info, prepaid Fedex courier envelope ($460 Pesos for both) and new larger photos as per the new(ish) requirements, (Something you may want to consider doing ahead of your PPR so that it's done, though no more than 6 months here is the link to new specs. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/pub/pass-photo-spec-eng.pdf). We hope to have stamped passport and COPR in hand by next Friday based on the recent experience of members.

My son is coming for a visit for a couple weeks so when he goes back to Canada on the 20th we are setting that time frame for our departure date. We are driving up so getting there for Christmas is not likely, but New Years for sure!

I am of the opinion that the visa is valid until December 01, 2016.

Thanks again and Speedy Processing!!!

Congratulations Canzanillo Finally!!! i´m so happy for you, you have been waiting long time also!!! congrats!

Good morning everybody!

Just wanted to share this..

For Venezuelan applicants.. whose passports will be sent from Venezuela..

We could not find any courier that allows us to Prepay the Airway Bill for the passport return.. We tried couple of them but no positive answer..
We had to email CIC stating the prepay service was not available in our country anymore..

So they replied:

You may wish to contact the VFS Global which is the Canadian Visa Application Center located in Caracas. We encourage you to visit the web site to verify their services and fees: http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/venezuela. If you decide to use VFS Global services, your passports along with your visas will be returned to you through their service.

Hope this info is helpful! ;)

Let's pray for those PPR to arrive this week!!

Good luck everyone :)

Hello guys!!!

Today I received a COA (Canadian Orientation Abroad) invitation but I am unable to attend, I was wondering if this meetings affect in any way to the application . Have any of you got your PR without attending this meeting?

Thank you,

Maguita

Won't affect it at all. Most get PRs without even getting an invitation. I think it's a good sign as far as your visa is concerned though! :D

Hi CANzanillo,

Can you or anyone else shed some light in the order of events for me. After the MVO start the process of our application - my understanding is they first go through your papers to make sure they have everything, we haven't received any document requests yet and they started the processing a month ago - can we assume they have the papers they need? When do they request the PGR? When do they inform us of any possible interview? In the past it seems the PGR has been requested almost at the same time as the AOR2 or no more than one month there after..? I know they have our medical and our payment so I'm hoping to get a PGR request before Christmas... am I hoping for too much? :o

By the way, are you guys packing yet? :) Super happy for you two!!

Speedy processing for everyone else!

Hello people!!

Where is everybody?

We are still waiting on the passport to come back :-\ It has taken forever..

Chrillan, as per my experience I think you are correct, you might get your PGR request anytime soon.

maguita, Saraotty, valeescu, Ricaldine and Luna21?

Any news guys?
