I had to call numerous times in order to eventually get through. try calling early in the am. I got through every time. Good Luck!!
Thanks!! I will try to call every morning!! It works out nicely that I'm up crazy early anyways every day!!

Wooohooo!!! Yesterday I received my passport with the visa affixed and COPR, along with some of the supporting documents we sent in, a letter, and 21 of my photos (uhh I can't even remember sending that many but ok). :D

We will head to the border in a couple of weeks and take a day trip to the US before we turn back around so I can land ;D

Sooo happy!!!

Congrats everyone, felicidades! We've had a good few weeks of progress!

Hi everyone,

So we just received this from the Mexico visa office:

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following:

U.S.A. Federal Bureau of Investigation
(FBI) Certificate
Please provide a FBI certificate for you.

My husband is not American and has never lived in the states! He worked abroad for an American company for a few years but never spent more than a few days at a time in the USA.

I'm so frustrated with this process and was really hoping our next correspondence would be the approval. We are such a straight forward case, yet it just seems like they keep asking for more and more information. Sorry I needed to vent.

Has anyone experienced this before? I hope we can get the FBI certificate quickly, I don<t want this to delay us even further..

I would start by emailing them back, usually they will respond in 2-3 days. I would tell them that your husband has not resided at any time in the US so you are unsure as to why they require a police check, and just confirm.

It is not beyond them to make mistakes, no harm in confirming.

That's exactly what I did, tishness. Hopefully it's a mistake and we don't have to send it! According to the FBI website, it takes 12-14 weeks to process the request plus mailing time.. I really don't want to be delayed another 3-4 months ???
