#1 - It all depends on his specific circumstances. He will have to proove strong ties to Mexico in order to get approved. #2 - I think something like that would work against him. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but having a Canadian girlfriend already shows ties to Canada and in their minds increases the liklihood that he'll overstay his visa. I don't know that they'll believe that he'll go back to Mexico if you state your intent to marry in the application. #3 - Visitors visas are usually pretty quick to process. About 3 weeks. #4 - First step would be to go to immigration canada website to find all of the forms and read the instruction guide that will tell you all of the papers you need to provide to apply. Just so you know, this section of the forum is for people applying for perminant residency, there is a whole section for visitors visas and the people over there would probably have more experience with it. We can still help you over here, but I just thought you should know.
Thank you for your response!
I guess I wasn't clear like I wanted to be we would be seeking permanent residency but is that difficult given that we are not married and have not lived together. Our plan is to get married but would like to spend sometime together prior to that as well. sorry if I am unclear I am trying to figure this all out.
